xxxiv. GOODBYE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.
after voices grew louder
about the messages in your phoneand late outings when i didn't get one call
it was the buzzing in our ears
and the look in our eyeswhen we knew it was time to say goodbye.
if only i listened to myself
the nights where you would hold me close
and it didn't feel like home anymore
or when you seemed more attached to our memories
than the ones we were making in that moment.he knew it was over
long before anyone said anything.maybe when the planets align
when time doesn't drift away at our fingertips
maybe then
we'll get a second chance.until then,
i hope the world treats you well
and you don't dwell
but remember
the time we spent.
