Warrior In the Woods (M.JessexPetra)

Petra's PoV

I stumbled out of the Nether portal and clutched the precious skull I had finally managed to obtain. Months of hard work and scrounging for resources. I was finally able to get that diamond in exchange for this dusty old skull.

I sheathed my nearly broken iron sword and looked around, hoping to find the familiar building they call the EnderCon Dome. The sun was setting so I decided to make my way to EnderCon where I had promised to meet a guy whom I was trading with.

I did not want to be ambushed by mobs so I cut through the woods to find a way. However, as I got to the river, I noticed a cloud of billowing smoke and a tree on fire. Inconsiderate people perhaps. I remembered once when some people almost burned down the forest. All because they forgot to put out their campfire. Typical of people, and also which is why I preferred to work alone.

Brushing leaves aside and some tall grass, I heard a loud squeal and the familiar 'twang' of a bowstring. A skeleton, maybe. But the squeal was definitely a pig. I took out my durable iron pickaxe, as my sword was about to break, and ran to the scene. And there was...

A boy. Jesse. He was surrounded by spiders and some zombies. I could tell he was not going to make it. Unless... I glanced at the ledge. I flinched when a loud squeal pierced the air. Jesse's pig, Reuben had been beaten up by a zombie. I jumped down from the ledge just as a spider jumped onto Jesse.

I swung out my pickaxe, struck the spider with just enough force to drag it away from Jesse and with three quick strikes, the spider was dead. I looked at Jesse's pale face and brilliant green eyes and pointed to my nearest base.

"Come on. Let's get out here." I said quietly as the mobs scattered and hastily regrouped. Jesse looked at me with disbelief and embarrassment, I think, but he followed, carrying Reuben in his arms.

I saved him.
