Hadrian's PoV

Hadrian spawned back in the respawn zone. He fell back against the fence, his body hurting all over. Ugh.. what just happened? "Hadrian! Are you okay?!" he heard a familiar voice call in a panic. Mevia. Hadrian turned to see the blue haired woman, looking at him worriedly.

"I'm fine Mevia, don't worry... but what-." he trailed off when he looked out. That meddlesome hero... Jesse. Great. Hadrian had lost the battle... "This is what happens when you do those deals of yours!" Mevia exclaimed, watching as Jesse greeted his old friends.

"This isn't the time Mevia! We have to get out of here!" Hadrian turned away from the fence and stopped when he saw them. "About time the tables turn, Hadrian!" Slab chuckled darkly as they advanced towards the two old builders.

"Hadrian! What do we do?" Mevia asked in a panic, "I don't have any items!"

"Don't worry Mev. I won't let them hurt you!" Hadrian said angrily, looking up at the gladiators.

"Awww who's the weak one now? You don't have your items with you or any of your old buddies do you?" Clutch asked in a babyish voice, while holding up her sword.

Hadrian grabbed Mevia's hand and pulled her to the side just as Facemeat swung his fist right at the place where they had once stood. "Come on!" Hadrian said quickly, pulling Mevia along, navigating their way out of the Arena.

Since they were old builders, and the ones who built the whole place, they could hide in one of their safe bunkers where there would be extra items and hiding spaces. "I knew it... I knew we'd lose!" Mevia was saying as she ate a pumpkin pie to regenerate.

Hadrian sighed, closing the trapdoor above them. "I'm so sorry Mev... really. I didn't know Otto would just... turn traitor. Or our gladiators." he looked through the chests and pulled out weapons and blocks.

Since it was the first time they had ever respawned, Hadrian felt a little strange. It felt like he was younger, but he knew the feeling would eventually pass. "Do you feel tingly? Because I feel tingly." Mevia said, shaking out her arms. Hadrian rolled his eyes and handed her another pie.

"I never knew respawning was such a painful experience.." Hadrian muttered, looking out the trapdoor again to see the gladiators roaming around, kicking aside blocks and calling for Hadrian and Mevia.

"Okay, all we have to do, is lay low." Mevia said, pulling out a map and studying it. Hadrian was a little impressed. Usually Mevia never showed this side of her. It reminded Hadrian of the old days, back when they were contestants in the games themselves or when they were building the portal hallway.

Which reminded him... Hadrian looked around the small room in the ground and spotted a dusty looking chest. "Hey Mev.?" he asked as he walked over to it.

"Yeah?" she was still turning the map around. Hadrian opened the chest and waved away the dust. A yellow glow lit up the room, making Mevia turn. "Whoa.! You never told me we had one too! I thought they were all destroyed!" she said as Hadrian pulled out a golden flint and steel.

"Nah, I kept this one safe when the others tried to get rid of the flint and steels. I guess I kinda knew this would happen one day." Hadrian shrugged. Mevia walked over to Hadrian and looked at the item in his hand. Then a small smile formed on Mevia's face, as if she suddenly thought of a brilliant idea.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" she asked, grinning at Hadrian. He blinked, a little confused.

She sighed. "Okay, obviously not. But here's what I'm thinking. We can take this flint and steel and head over to the Portal Network. From there, we can have adventures! Just like last time."

Hadrian raised his eyebrows. "Really? You want that? You want... to leave this world behind? After everything we've done?" he asked.

Mevia nodded. "Well, its time we've got a new start." she said with a smile. Hadrian couldn't help but agree. He loved it whenever Mevia smiled like that. It made her look much younger and friendlier. Just like last time. "Okay then.." Hadrian sighed, opening the trapdoor.

"Let's try to make it out alive." With that, he took Mevia's hand and they started running.

"Okay, here's the plan-." Hadrian started to say when Mevia rolled her eyes. "You and your plans. I'd rather just go along with whatever comes my way." she smirked, holding up her diamond axe confidently.

"But- but we need a backup plan!" Hadrian protested as she waved him away with a small smile. "Nah, we don't. All we have to do, is to get through these gates, head to the Portals and voila, we can have any adventure we want."

Hadrian shrugged. "Okay... fine." he couldn't resist those eyes of hers anyway. Mevia winked at Hadrian and looked out. "Okay.. coast clear, now let's-." she started to step out but Hadrian pulled her back just in time as someone almost looked their way.

"Hadrian?! W-why did you-." she was stopped short when she tripped. Hadrian quickly caught her and he didn't know how or why but suddenly... they were just kissing. After a few seconds, Mevia seemed to come to her senses but instead of pulling away, she just smiled, looking at Hadrian, who was blushing

"I.. didn't mean to do that.!" Hadrian pulled away, his face crimson. Mevia laughed, her face burning as well. "Jeez Hadrian. After years and years, why now?" she teased him. "W-what?" he replied, trying his best to calm down.

"Oh never mind." Mevia smiled that beautiful smile of hers again. "But that was... nice." she admitted, and Hadrian gasped a little when she pulled him into another kiss.

"Enjoying yourselves?" Hadrian heard someone say, making him immediately pull away from Mevia. He blinked a few times to see Jesse and his gang, staring at the two of them with Harper, grinning broadly. Harper was smirking at the two of them, as if she's been waiting for this day.

Hadrian felt a little miffed by that and he wanted to tell her off but he didn't want to get into more trouble... great. Hadrian decided to go with the 'friendly' approach.

"U-uh if you want to... lock us up or anything... then.. go ahead." Hadrian stammered, trying to act intimidating but it was obviously failing. Mevia sighed at his pitiful attempt. He watched as that blond guy, they called Lukas, and Jesse exchanged a look.

After awhile, Jesse looked back at Hadrian with a small smile.

"Nah..." he said, gesturing to the village behind them. "This is your world... do whatever you want with it. But as long as you treat everyone fair and square." Jesse said.

Hadrian sighed. "Fine... but we're actually not staying." he took Mevia's hand and started to walk out to the portal hallway.

"We've got an adventure to catch."
