Ellegaard's PoV
"Now what? You got us into this mess in the first place!" I huffed as Magnus looked around. We were stuck in an underground mineshaft, with only five steak and an apple. "Great," Magnus mumbled as he put a torch down. "Just what I needed Ellie, a reason to get mad at you."
"Oh shush." I shot back as I looked at the mineshaft's dimly lit tunnels and corridors of broken wood and beams. "Hold on," I said, holding out an arm. Magnus raised an eyebrow. "If you mine that block there," I pointed to the single block of wood above us, "this roof would collapse on us, and I do not want to get stuck down here with you any longer." I told him as he looked at the crumbling wood.
"And how did you figure that out? Your scientific mumbo jumbo? Your brains?" Magnus asked. I glared at him. "As a matter of fact, I did use my brains, idiot. At least I have a brain," I paused. "Unlike you." I added for good measure.
"Oh ha ha, very funny Ellie. Now get us out." He replied and prodded the wood beam above us. "I'm working on it, shut up." I replied and I led him towards the right where I could sense that there was a ravine nearby, as I could feel the dry wind on my face blowing from the right. "Wind means air, air means ventilation." I said out loud.
"Okay." Magnus said, a very unhelpful commentator as always. "And ventilation.?" he trailed off as I led us up and towards the ravine. "Means open spaces and can also mean up and above." I explained slowly.
Magnus rolled his eyes and I held out my bow, wary of any mob. "Hold it," Magnus said, thrusting our his arm, stopping me in my tracks. "What?" I whispered, suddenly scared. I was an engineer, not a warrior unlike Gabriel, who was out adventuring to who knows where. "Two blocks to the left, a skeleton." Magnus said.
I looked at him. "How do you even know?" I asked. He gestured to his ears and I rolled my eyes. He always told me that he had super sonic hearing.
"To hear the explosions," he always said. Without a word, Magnus took out a block of TNT, lit it, and threw it to the left. An explosion echoed throughout the mines and I glared at Magnus, who shrugged.
With the mobs gone, I could explore a bit more, looking around the mines with only an apple and a few steak wasn't a great way to survive. "Hold on, see that?" Magnus pointed upwards and I squinted to see... daylight. The sun. Without even thinking, I grabbed Magnus' hand and climbed up, using all my energy just to get out of this mess.
"Whoa- Ellie." Magnus gasped as we sat on the grass, out of breath. We were finally bathed in the golden sunlight of the above, after five days of getting lost in those mines. "I've never been this happy just to see daylight." I said after I let go of his hand. "Let's never do this. Ever again." Magnus said and I smirked.
