Binta's PoV

She whipped out her diamond pickaxe from her inventory and striked it against the stone, using it to hold on to the edge of the cliff.

The whole world was starting to crumble around them, the sky growing darker as the wind tried to pull her away.

What was causing this storm?

"Take my hand!" Hilda gasped as she reached down to take Binta's other hand, which was holding onto the sharp stones.

"Hilda, just leave, quickly. Take the others with you to the caverns." Binta instructed the other girl but Hilda shook her head, her outstretched hand ready for Binta to take.

"We're not leaving you, Binta! Fred's waiting for you!"

Binta's fingers slipped a little on the wooden hilt of the pickaxe, making her wince when pain flared in her hand.

She couldn't hold on much longer.

"Binta, please," Hilda reached out even further, "We're not going to lose you."

"You're a leader, Binta," She heard Fred's voice in her head as she looked up at Hilda, worry in her eyes.

Around them, storm continued. And in the horizon, a storm of blocks were starting to gather. But it wasn't just any type of block.

Bedrock.

But the two girls didn't notice anything since Hilda still trying to pull Binta up.

"Promise me you would lead the people, Binta." Fred said in her mind.

They were in the middle of his house, Fred standing in front of the many bookcases he had as Binta paced around. Outside, they could hear the people of Fred's Keep, talking and walking around, peaceful in their own world.

"But you're here to lead us Fred," Binta replied, stopping to look at him, "Why do you sound like you're leaving?"

Fred sighed, opening a book to let the pages flutter in the wind, "My dear Binta," he said in his usual calm voice.

"I'm afraid my friends have other ideas.. one particular person, that is."

"Do you know what happens when you leave a friendship unbalanced?" he held up the book in his hands so that she could see that the pages were about to fall apart, "When one page falls.." he gently pulled out the paper, so that all the pages fluttered to the floor.

"Fred, wait, is this what's been going on with you and Romeo?" Binta asked, looking up at her leader, who was gazing out at the sunrise.

"Just promise me, Binta."

He turned to her, taking her hands. "I don't want anything to happen to my town. I don't want anything to happen to you."

"Take this, alright?" He closed his eyes with concentration, light forming in his hands.

Binta looked down at their hands, and watched as something small and light shimmered into existence.

"A..a compass?" she asked as Fred opened his eyes and gazed at it fondly, "It always points to home. No matter what."

"If everything falls apart.." Fred looked into her eyes, "You need to follow it."

Binta started to ask something but he placed a finger over her lips, immediately making her fall silent.

"You'll understand when you follow what I say, Binta. You're a leader."

"Hilda, wait!" Binta gasped, her hair waving in the wind as the bedrock crept closer and closer, blocking out the light above them.

"I have to do something!" Binta shook her head, "Let me go, lead the others to safety."

Binta pulled out the compass, watching as the needle spun wildly, around and around until it pointed to where the bedrock seemed to be spreading from.

"Binta- NO!" Hilda gasped as Binta let go of the pickaxe, falling down to the ground and rolling in the dust, coughing.

She looked up, unable to see Hilda as she was covered by the mist which hung around the mountains.

"Don't worry Fred," Binta muttered, unsheathing her sword and running towards the direction where the needle was pointing.

"I'm on my way."

She stopped when she realised where she was heading towards. Romeoburg. The place where one of the Admins lived. Romeo himself, but everything seemed deserted and..

She looked down at the compass, which seemed to stop spinning. Was this the place where Fred would meet her? She knew.. Fred had something to do with the bedrocking. Right?

"FRED!" she shouted, unable to stand being alone in this deserted town. Where was everyone?

"FRED, WHERE ARE YOU?" she called, clutching the compass close to her chest.

Binta looked around, hesitant to enter the castle-like building. But reluctant to leave where the compass took her.

Above her, the blue sky was gone, and instead, orange and yellow mist hung around, casting everything with dim lighting.

Thunder boomed over head, but strangely, there didn't seem to be any rain..

She knew the three Admins controlled a different type of environmental power.

Fred could control the weather and hence, was able to create rainfall, or snow or clear weather. The weather usually reflected his mood, so they had clear days most of the time.

Romeo created thunderstorms and lightning, sometimes able to create lavafalls and pits. He was a silent type, but very temperamental too.

Xara could control the trees, plants and flowers, which was why she had named her town the Oasis after all.

Binta knew the people in the Oasis were really happy there, basking in the sunshine and plants.

But now.. was this thunderstorm a sign?

Was she... too late?

Binta sat on the hard concrete path, staring at the compass which pointed straight to the castle.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't promise Fred." she managed to say to herself as she clutched the compass; closing her eyes.

"I'm not a leader."
