(Writing this from my sister's phone @ 10:46pm)

The two boys were sleeping peacefully and there wasn't anything to disturb them. There was only the occasional sigh from Lukas's slightly parted lips as he breathed, his left hand resting gently against Aiden's wrist. It had been five months since they got together, but to Lukas, it felt like they've been together for years.

But one things for certain, they had to keep this relationship a secret. To Lukas, that sounded like an easy task, since his Father didn't mind much.  But for Aiden... his parents were against the idea of Aiden being well, gay. So they had to keep quiet about their secret relationship. Lukas turned and opened an eye, realising that Aiden was frowning a little as he slept, as if he was dreaming about something unpleasant. Lukas was used to it by now.

His Boyfriend usually had nightmares. Sometimes they would be so vivid, Aiden would suddenly lash out at Lukas. The blonde rubbed his own cheek, feeling the bruise Aiden had accidentally given him when he accidentally hit him. Lukas reached out and stroked Aiden's cheek a little, feeling his cool palm against Aiden's warm skin. They used to joke that Aiden was the hot one between the two of them, literally. And it always made Lukas roll his eyes.

Lukas sighed, rolling over and staring up at the ceiling. No matter what, he was always the first to be awake. And he would always be the one to listen out of Aiden's parents as they clattered around the house. Lukas's heart beat wildly as he heard their footsteps thudding up and down the stairs, despite it being nearly 8 am, when everyone was barely awake on a Saturday morning. It was always risky, to sleep over at Aiden's house while his parents were home.

But it was either he slept over, or they couldn't see each other at all, since the only time Aiden and Lukas could meet was when they had classes together. In school. Lukas slowly sat up, and brushed his messy blond hair away from his eyes, trying to adjust. Suddenly, he felt Aiden's hand around his wrist, pulling him back. "It's not 8:30 yet." He whispered, Aiden's sleepy lime green eyes flashing from the light coming from between the window curtains.

8:30 was the time when his parents would check on Aiden everyday.

"I know," Lukas whispered back, still not moving. "But don't you think they're suspicious?"

Aiden frowned. He looked a little upset as he slowly woke up.. "True... they've been asking-."

"More and more questions, I know." Lukas finished his sentence as he held Aiden's hand. Aiden nervously glanced at the door. "I think you should leave then. Who knows what will happen if they catch us together."

"Detention." Lukas muttered, making Aiden smirk since his Mother was the principal of the school and all.

"Love you." Aiden kissed Lukas on the cheek, making the blonde blush and making Aiden  laugh a little. "You always blush, whenever I hold your hand or something."

Lukas tolled his eyes, "I'm still not used to being kissed." He had always been rejecting people when it came to dating, but surprise surprise. Aiden was the one who caught his attention.

Aiden pushed open the window, nervously biting his lip as Lukas gripped the sill. "Don't look at me like that. I do this all the time." Lukas  whispered as he  looked down at the ground, reaching over to a wooden beam to slide down.

"I'm still not sure, you could probably break your ankles." Aiden replied as Lukas smirked. "I'm always careful and don't worry. I'll see you again."

Aiden was about to lean forward to help Lukas down the window when the door clicked open behind them, making Lukas curse softly and disappear down, just as Aiden whipped around to see his parents, checking in on him.

"..." Aiden closed the window, hoping they didn't see Lukas. But based on their accusing eyes...

He knew he was in big trouble.

"You can't come over anymore." Aiden and Lukas were sitting at the back of the school, near the vending machines. It was their secret place, where no teacher could find them or any student to bother them. Just the way both of them liked it. But today, there was tension in the air. Something Lukas could feel.

"I could tell.." He  stabbed a piece of meat with his fork. "The look on your face."

Aiden looked at his food, he barely ate anything. "No.. you don't understand. They were furious."

Lukas frowned, looking down at their hands. Aiden's knuckles were bruised, and trembling slightly. "What happened?" He took his hand but Aiden pulled away. The first time he had ever done that.. Lukas looked down at his own hands, where there was a ring Aiden had given him when they first started dating. "And when they're furious. They-"

Aiden looked up and Lukas saw Aiden's Mother looking at the both of them, waiting. "I have to go." Aiden hopped off the bench, making Lukas even more confused.

"Wait- Aiden, what are you saying?"

But the other boy didn't turn around. He just continued walking to his Mother, who placed a hand on his shoulder and steered him away from Lukas.

Lukas sat outside his house, unfolding the paper he had recieved in the mail. "The heck.?" He murmured to himself as he realised that it was Aiden's handwriting. He knew Aiden's handwriting better than his own. The way he wrote his 'G's and 'Y's. But that wasn't important. What was important was the two words at the end of the letter. "I'm sorry."

Lukas placed down the paper, trying to calm down. After five months of dating and he was already... Lukas closed his eyes, leaning against the back door.

He didn't know how Long he stayed there, but what he did know was that he wasn't going to give up that easily. Lukas opened his eyes and realised that it was nearly evening. Which meant he could put his plan into action. Aiden didn't deserve to stay in that abusive household. He deserved more. And Lukas wanted to help.

"You're not supposed to be here." Aiden whispered as Lukas sat on Aiden's windowsill. "I don't care. I can't stand to see you like this. I know your parents. What they've been doing to you." Lukas's eyes lingered over the bruise on Aiden's cheek. Aiden looked at the ground. "I have to stay. They're my family. No matter what they've done to me."

"You mean you don't want to run away with me?"

Aiden held Lukas's gaze before giving him a slight nod. "It's not right."

Lukas sighed, "And..?"

"They told me to stay away from you. They said you're a bad influence."

Lukas raised an eyebrow. That was new.

"Lukas, look at me," Aiden tipped his chin up, making the blonde face him. "We can have another chance together. When we're older. But not now."

"..." Lukas's lip trembled a little, but he forced himself not to cry. "I-I understand then."

"I love you."

Lukas looked down at the ground, a few feet down. "I love you too." He whispered, without looking back at Aiden as he surveyed the grass below. He couldn't believe it. Aiden was letting him go.

"Lukas, I'm doing this for you, you know that, right?" Aiden whispered. Lukas closed his eyes and set the ring down on the sill, "I know... I Guess, I have to go then." He opened his eyes.

With that, Lukas slipped away, landing on the ground and beginning his Long walk back home...

and he refused to look back as Aiden watched him leave.
