Powers Again (LukasxRomeo)

Lukas's PoV

"Just because you were an Admin before.. doesn't mean you can't help me." the blond haired boy sighed, struggling to hold up the Redstone Heart as it pulsed in his hands.

Romeo cast him a small smile, "You have to learn how to manage on your own, blond guy." He looked out at the wheat fields before him, gazing right at the sunset.

The two were in a field, far away from Beacontown. Things have changed ever since Jesse and Petra had left on their adventure together. Lukas just hoped that they were alright...

Romeo stayed in Beacontown, since the people from the Underneath still resented him and were wary. Lukas could see why they were afraid of him. Romeo was a person who had a temper, underneath that rather cool appearance.

Fortunately, he didn't mind. In fact, it was Jesse who had suggested that Lukas could take care of the red haired guy.

"Say, Romeo," Lukas spoke up as he placed the block on the ground, watching as it glowed a fierce shade of red. "What's the deal with the Redstone Heart? Why did we bring it all the way out here?"

He frowned when the other male didn't reply, instead, he just continued staring out at the sun.

Maybe he needed some time alone. After all, the poor guy had his powers practically beaten out of him by Jesse. Lukas looked at the block at his feet, bending down and just running a hand across its smooth surface.

Jesse and the others had practically fought with their lives just because of this Heart. Only to end up becoming a relic of the past. Romeo had deduced that the Heart was merely a powerrsource, just like a redstone block.

But the Heart has powered PAMA.. and that thing was crazy. Lukas grimaced a little, remembering the memories of Crown Mesa. That part of his life was probably the worst thing that has ever happened to him.

"Lukas."

He looked up, surprised when he heard Romeo call him. The slightly shorter male never usually called him by his name. "What is it-?"

There was a pause as Romeo continued to stare at the horizon. "Sorry.. but it's been.. so long since I've seen such a stunning view.."

Lukas frowned a little. "Oh right.."

Romeo shook his head, as if trying to shake away the memories. "Let's just get to it." He took out a red shulker box, placing it on the ground and opening it. "What are you doing-?"

Lukas gasped when Romeo tipped it over and spilled out tons of items from the treasury. All their trophies and precious items they've collected over the years.

"What? Why did you bring these here?" Lukas asked, confused as Romeo regarded the items with disapproval.

"Promise not to think I'm insane." the other male said all of a sudden, not answering Lukas's question.

Well... Romeo was certainly acting insane. After all, he made Lukas carry the Heart all the way out here, revealed every treasure the Order has collected and now he's babbling about the view?

"I know what you're thinking, by the way," Romeo frowned at the items, not looking at Lukas, "But just hear me out."

Lukas hesitated. Should he.. really listen? After all, he was literally close to dropping everything and running. But then again, Romeo was his friend.. and he's helped him a lot.

"Alright.. what do you want to say?" Lukas asked, hoping he didn't sound too impatient.

Romeo finally looked up at him, before holding out a hand to the Redstone Block. "This."

Lukas leapt back when the Block flew towards Romeo, making him catch it. "You.. you have your powers?!" Lukas stepped back even more, as Romeo looked rather upset.

"I was hoping I'd start anew. But apparently.. my powers are something I can't remove." Romeo held out another hand, levitating the items so that they hovered.

"But.. why did you bring me all the way here?" Lukas asked, his hand on his bow as he stared at the red haired man.

Romeo sighed, dropping his hands to his side and making the objects fall back onto the grass. "Because.."

"I trust you... these treasures were making me jealous.. and I wanted to bury them. I kept getting reminded of my old self whenever I visited the temple. So I wanted to hide them where I couldn't see."

"I really want to be a new person, Lukas," Romeo clenched his fists, "But no one wants to trust me... Xara. Fred.. Jesse."

Lukas moved his hand away from his bow and instead, walked forward. "You're.. sincere about this, aren't you?" he asked timidly.

Romeo sighed, folding his arms. "Very. I have another chance at life, and I want to make sure I do it right."

Lukas smiled a little. "Alright then.." he bent down and gathered the treasures in his arms. "What are you waiting for? Come on and help me."

"Wait-." Romeo blinked, "You don't mind me burying them?"

Lukas scoffed, "If you're so sincere about wanting to change yourself.." he shifted the items to one hand, holding out his other for Romeo to take. "Then I suppose I have to help you."

Romeo looked down at Lukas's outstretched hand, and hesitantly took it. "You're.. a good friend, Lukas."

The blonde smiled, "That's what Jesse says. But anyway.. let's bury these and make sure they stay buried. Like your old memories. Bury your past."

"Because you can always make happier memories afterwards."

Romeo smirked a little, not letting go of Lukas's hand, "You're so poetic sometimes."
