When They Get Scared

They are 4 years old now.

Leo was in the living room playing wth with his toys when all of a sudden, he felt a tickling feeling on his hand.

It was big and it had eight legs and lots of eyes and it was really scary to Leo, so he screamed.

You run in and he runs into you crying and screaming. You pick him up and hug him.

"What's wrong sweetie?" You ask. He points to a spider crawling on the floor and sniffs.

"There's a scary thing over there mummy, it has lots of legs and it's scary!" He whimpered.

"Leo, that's a spider." You reply. "Are you scared of spiders honey?" He nodded.

You put him down and put the spider outside and it scurries off. "Thanks mummy."

"Your welcome sweetie." You reply kissing his forehead. He then goes off to play.

A few minutes later, you heard a loud scream from Ralph's room. You run in and see him hiding under his covers.

"What's wrong Ralphie?" You ask sitting next to him. "Did you hear something scary?"

He nods. "It was a loud booming noise and it's scary!" He hugs you tightly.

"Its ok, that was just thunder...it's stormy and the thunder is kind of loud...are you scared of thunder?"

Raph nods. You give him some head phones with his favorite songs on it.

"This will help you You be so scared until the thunder goes away." You smile.

"Thanks mummy!" He shouts over the music. You laugh and kiss him, letting him dance.

You walk out of the room to help Splinter make lunch, which was sandwiches and milk.

"Ok Leo gets Turkey, Raph gets cheese, Donnie gets Peanut butter and jelly, and Mikey gets ham." You announce.

The boys come to the table and you give them their sandwiches. They eat happily while you and Splinter have tea.

After lunch, you hear Donnie crying and walk in. "Are you ok Donnie?" You ask picking him up.

He shakes his head and buries his face in your hair. "I'm scared mummy." He mumbled.

"What scared you?" You ask. He sniffs and points to a book he found about scary animals.

"Donnie, did this book scare you?" You ask picking it up. He nods and hides his face.

"It's Ok honey, I'll get rid of it ok?" You suggest. He agrees and you throw the book away.

He has stopped crying now but still looked scared. "What kind of animals did you see in the book?"

"A big cat and a big mean monkey and a long thing with no legs and big teeth!" He says.

You nod. "Your scared of tigers, gorillas and snakes?" You ask. "Yeah." He mumbled.

"It's ok to be scared Donnie, just today your brothers were scared everyone gets scared." You say.

"Thanks mummy." He smiles hugging you. You kiss his cheek. "No more scary books."

A couple hours later, you hear Mikey crying from his room and his brothers laughing at him.

You walk in to see Leo hiding under the bed and Raph holding down the light switch. Donnie laughed right along.

Little Mikey was huddled up on his bed shaking and sobbing. You run over and make Raph turn on the light.
