When They Go To The Surface

Today is probably the most important day in your son's lives. The day they've been preparing for since the age of 5.

Today...they are going to the surface for the first time by themselves without you or Splinter.

Your very proud of them for coming this far, though you nervous. What if something happens...

Well, your not too worried. After all they are fully trained ninjas, they know what they are doing and they have weapons.

Taking a deep breath, you go to the kitchen to make breakfast. They are going to the surface in an hour.

You make your specialty: chocolate chip pancakes! All the boys, Vivian and even Splinter love them.

A few moments after you finish making them, Splinter comes to the kitchen fully dressed in God kimono. He kisses your cheek.

"Morning cherry blossom, today is the big day." He says with a big, proud smile. You smile.

"I know, I can hardly believe it, I mean it seems like just yesterday they received their masks!" You say, excitedly.

A few moments later, the boys  come down for breakfast. You and Splinter haven't told them yet.

"Woah, pancakes!" Leo says in awe. "What's the special occasion mum?" He asks, looking to you.

You and Splinter exchange glances and smile. "Well....we decided that you boys are old enough to go to the surface!" You announce.

They immediately leap in joy, hugging you and smiling. They've been waiting for to say that for ages!

"Yes!" Leo cheers.

"Finally!" Raph shouts.

"Woo-hoo!" Donnie yells.

"This is gonna be awesome!" Month squeals.

"Yes, well you have finally come of age, my sons so you will be going to the surface today for your very first patrol." Splinter adds.

"Patrol?" Mikey says in confusion, cocking his head to the side curiously.

"Yes, making sure there isn't any trouble in the city and that the people are safe." You reply.

"Do we get to use our weapons?" Raph asks, pulling out his said and throwing them in the air, catching them.

"Yes, you will bring your weapons always just in case of danger, or if you come across any enemies." Splinter answers.

"Sweet, can we go now?" Mikey begs, looking at you with puppy dog eyes. You laugh.

"After breakfast mister, then you can go." You say with a grin. They sit down and eat. Vivian comes a long way few moments later.

"Morning baby." You coo, smoothing her messy, unruly for from her sky blue eyes.

"Morning mummy, daddy and onii-channs!" She says, greeting and cuddling everyone.

"Morning imoto." The boys greet as they look up from their pancakes and smile lovingly.

Vivian then sits next to Mikey and eats her pancakes, getting chocolate all over herself and the table. She cleans up afterwards.

As soon as the boys finish breakfast, they get ready to go to the surface. They grab their weapons and tighten their bandages.

Vivian watches intently, still not exactly understanding what they were doing or what was going on.

"Mummy, what are they doing?" She asks you with a confused look on her face.
