When They Swim Part 2-Turtle Tots

It's been a few days since Mikey's near drowning experience, and he isn't doing well at all.

He's been having awful nightmares of drowning and often wakes up sobbing, and sleeping in your bed.

Because of his near death experience, he's developed a very strong fear of water.

He refuses to take a bath, wash his hands, brush his teeth or even drink water. He's been drinking soup, but even that sends him into a panic.

"Mikey baby boy, it's ok...shhh." You comfort him as he sobs harshly into your neck. He's had another nightmare.

"It f-felt so real, mummy!" He wails. You feel so bad that he's suffering so much. This incident has really changed him.

"It's ok, it's ok, you're ok." You murmur. "I'm here and you're safe, shhh it's all ok." He says nothing as he wails.

The boys are obviously confused and concerned to why Mikey's acting this way. They watch from the doorway.

After a long while, Mikey calms down enough to fall back to sleep. But only with you holding him in your arms.

"Mummy, what's the matter with Mikey? Why's he acting so weird?" Leo asks in a whisper.

"Yeah, is he ok?" Donnie adds. "He's had lots of bad dweams and he never does!" He said.

"Why won't he take a bath mummy? I don't like it when he's so sad." Raph says sadly.

You shush them gently as Mikey's still on your're lap and you don't want to wake him since he hasn't been sleeping very well.

Splinter walks in and motions for them to come to him while you stay with Mikey who's whimpering in his sleep.

Splinter takes them to the living room so they can talk normally. They sit on the couch in front of Splinter.

"My sons, do you remember Mikey's accident in the pool that happened a few days ago?" You ask quietly. They all nod.

"Well, that was very scary and upsetting for Michaelangelo, that is why he is scared around water." Splinter explains.

They all nod again. "Is that why Mikey won't take a bath or wash his hands or anything? That's kinda yucky!" Leo comments.

Splinter nods. "Yes Leonardo, Michaelangelo does not want to be anywhere near water because he is afraid he might drown."

"But daddy, you can't drown while washing your hands right?" Raph asks in confusion.

Splinter shakes his head. "No Raphael, but to Michaelangelo, it is different...he fears because he almost died from water."

"That's why he's been crying so much and having bad dweams?" Donnie asks in a  concerned voice.

"Yes, whenever he goes to sleep he sees what happened and re-lives the scary moment of almost drowning." Splinter attempts.

"Is he gonna be like this forever?" Leo says worriedly. "I don't like seeing him like that."

"We will have to wait and see my sons...we need to make sure to try and help Michaelangelo get over his fear and comfort him."

They all agree to do their best to help little Mikey and do everything they can to help him get over his fear.

Splinter talks to you to discuss the plan. "(Y/N), I think I know how to help Michaelangelo. " He says once Mikey's calm.

"How?" You say in relief. "Oh Yoshi, I just hate seeing him so upset...it's just so unlike him."
