Quote of the Chapter: Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz (German)

"The closest translation would be Life long treasure of destiny. Now Victoria is wunderbar, but she is not my lebenslangerschicksalsschatz..."

The elevators door open and I head out and walk towards my office, where inside I find Eric waiting for me as he sits on my desk with a small metal crate on his lap filled with letters. "Miss Bradshaw," He jokes, "you've got mail!"

"When is this due?" I ask him as I take the crate from his hands and take a seat behind my desk.

"Final draft sent into editing this next week Thursday, but if you have it done before then, that would be better." He replies as he walks towards the door. "Oh, I almost forgot. How was your trip meeting his family?"

"It was fine." I reply.

"Just fine?"

"Mm hm. His family are wonderful."

"Mm hm," Eric squints his eyes at me. "Anyways, you have a call on line two. It's been on hold for about three minutes."

"Thanks!" I say. Eric walks out and closes the office door and I pick up the phone and answer the call. "Jasmine Callaghan speaking."

"Hey!" The cheery voice that belongs to Nora says into the line.

"Hey! I'm gonna put you on speaker, I have to sift through these article recommendations." I say.

"Okay." She replies. I press speaker on the phone and let her know she's on. I continue to look through the letters while she begins to talk. "Can we have lunch today? Or are you busy? If you're busy it's totally fine, I get it."

"No, I can do lunch today." I reply. "What are you gonna be in the mood for?"

"Honestly? I just want a big, fat, juicy burger. That's what I've been craving!" Nora tells me.

"Honestly? Me, too." I reply. "Jeremy's mom prepared vegan meals for me because she thought I was vegan for some odd reason and I just didn't have the heart to correct her."

"Oh, God. Yeah, you are in desperate need of a burger." Nora laughs.

"I know just the place! Do you wanna meet me here?" I reply as I come across one letter that has caught my attention.

"Yeah I can meet you at your office." Nora replies. "What time?"

I hold the letter in my hands and tell Nora, "One fifteen." Nora agrees and the like cuts as she hangs up and I still hold onto the letter and read it.

Dead Cosmo,
Do you believe in the saying Right Love, Wrong Time? My friend and her ex made a pact that if five years along the road they both happen to be single that they'll always come back to each other. That was five years ago, and now my sister is happily with a new boyfriend and he's still single. Recently they ran into each other on a vacation to Thailand and they had a drink together. Now she's wondering if it was a sign that they are meant for each other? What should she do?

I bite my lip as I place the crate on the table, then fold the letter up and I put it in my purse. I dial Eric on the line and he answers.

"Yes, Carrie?" He jokes.

"I'm gonna take the day. I found a letter and I wanna her my research right for this." I say to him.

"Do as you please. Good luck writing it." Eric replies.
