Song of the Chapter: No One Like You - Best Coast
"Know that you don't mean to say things / That hurt me, and drop me to my knees..."

"I'm sorry," Shawn hurriedly says in between our multiple kisses. He stepped on my foot by accident while we clumsily tried to take off his jacket and he took off his shoes in the middle of my living room.
"What happens if I stay the night?" Shawn asks me. My chest still heaves from running after him and I lick my lips.
"Whatever the universe wants to happen." I tell him sweetly. I hold my hand out to him and he takes it, and we walk inside the building and out of the cold.
He looks up at the ceiling as if he were talking to the sky and says, "Universe, please don't fuck this up for us."
"It's okay, don't worry about it." I reply to him. We go over to the couch and fall onto it. I fall into his lap and he spared no time in placing his hands at my waist.
By now, we have taken our pace slow and instead of our kisses being rushed and hurried because of how much we wanted this, we take it slow and steady.
I forgot the way his lips felt and moved against mine. I forgot his soft they were too, and how when he would kiss me just right, my lips would tingle before turning numb. I forgot how he would bring a hand to the shore of my face or behind my neck to deepen the kiss. His lips. It's so odd how I never understood how much I missed them until I was kissing them.
"I missed this." I whisper as I pull back from the kiss.
"Promise me we'll never let another four years go by without contact." Shawn whispers.
I nod my head. "I promise." I lean in and kiss him one last time before looking into his eyes and pushing his hair back. "I missed you. So, so much."
"Would you still drop everything for me?" Shawn asks.
"You're a bit late for that." I truthfully answer. "But you're not too late to take me into the bedroom."
"Well then what the hell am I waiting for?" Shawn says. There's a gleam in his soft topaz eyes as he reconnects our lips and holds onto me as he stands up and leads us to the bedroom. I grip at the back of his head, my fingers holding onto a tuff of his hair as he carefully sets me down on the bed.
I remove my hands from his hair and begin to unbutton his shirt while his hands go to the side of my dress as he finds the zipper.
"Do you have something?" I ask him.
Shawn let's out a small gasp before pulling back from the kiss and he stops unzipping my dress. Oh...
"No, I don't have anything with me." Shawn shakes his head.
"Oh." I say.
"Yeah..." He adds. Shawn gets off of me and he takes a seat at the edge of the bed while I sit up. "You know what, maybe it's the universe telling us that we shouldn't jump into this. You know?"
"Yes! Absolutely. I mean, we remember what happened the last time we were black out drunk and had sex." I reply.
"Yeah, yeah definitely. Your abortion." He nods.
