Pam's POV
I woke up to hear crying coming from down the hall. I instantly assumed it was Ava and picked up the baby monitor. But it was silent. I stood up and walked into Ava's room to see that she's perfectly fine.
So then I walked down to Mia's room and found Mia sobbing into her little hands.
"Mia? Baby what's wrong?"
I asked as I picked her up. She started to cry into my shoulder as I rubbed her back.
"Shhh, tell Mommy what's wrong."
I cooed as I rocked her back and forth.
"Why doesn't Daddy love me?"
She asked. My heart broke hearing those words. I never wanted the girls to feel like I did towards my father.
"He does love you sweetheart. Why would you think that?"
I asked as I brushed hair from her face.
"Because he left me here and never came back."
Mia sniffled.
"Oh Mia, your daddy loves you so much. I promise. He's just...he just went on a little vacation. And I don't know when he'll be back but he will. I promise. So until then, we can be happy with just your sister and I, right?"
"Right."
Mia said with a weak smile.
"Great. Okay, time for bed. I love you munchkin. Sweet dreams."
I said as I put her back into the bed. Once I tucked her in and she fell asleep, I walked back to my own room and rubbed my tired eyes.
I couldn't believe that Mia thought that Fergal didn't love her. Maybe it's because he never showed it. Or maybe because it's true.
