walking unsteadily through the dark walkways, stores were closing down and all sorts of people were rushing home, hoping to escape from the cold weather.

i hung the grocery bags on my wrist as i stuffed both of my cold hands into my coat's pockets.

the cold breeze blew my messy hair to the side as i groaned, using one of my freezing hand to tuck my hair to the side.

however, my foot came to a halt as muffled voices were heard from the alley at the side of me.

i silently cursed at my curious mind as i turned to look at what those voices were.

figures could be seen everywhere, yet it was all their shadows, the dark swallowed them down like a monster as all their actions were shown right in front of me.

foolish, i decided to take a few steps nearer to the human figures and stopped when i was under a spoiled lamp post that was flickering.

everything came to sight as i let out a small gasp.

"holy shit."

now, i am at the verge of breaking every single cell of my curiosity as i hoped that all these was just hallucination.

the men did not seem to notice me though. almost all of them were either wearing masks or hiding behind the dark.

a damn freaking fight was going on out there.

and the timid me just had to be here.

punches were thrown, a curse escaped from my lips as a sharp pen knife appeared in their gloved well hands.  the two sides were differentiated well as one of the sides even had guns evident at the back.

a step backwards.

just do it, jae, another few steps and you're out of this, you'll go home, give mum the things and have your dinner like you always do, and pretend like none of this actually had happened.

but my trembling legs were failing me very badly that i hoped i could have cut them off.

shock filled me as i felt drops of sweat rolling down my side.

who sweats during winter?

as if it wasn't enough, a white substance gently fell onto my sleeve. eyes widened, i cursed under my breath as i stood rooted on the ground, witnessing more of the same substance slowly yet big quantity dropped on the cold ground.

however, the fighters didn't seem the slightest interested in what was around them.

and pang.

the fall of one man rang through the entire alley as it only seemed to have made the rest even more eager in winning each other.

the white substance one the floor soon was painted red as it melted in the blood of the unconsious man on the floor with a gun shot wound.

"oh damn holy mother chicken pizzas hell." i blurted.

my eyes widened as i covered my mouth, dropping all the grocery bags, letting everyone stop and slowly switch their attention to the only girl under the spoiled lamp post.

i could feel pairs of confused and furious eyes on me.

i was under a damn dead spotlight.

as if it finally worked, my legs allowed me to turn around, and at least try to walk away.

but i knew it was never so easy when a hand harshly turned me around.

i met his eyes as i closed mine straightaway, "i'm really sorry i didn't mean to intrude. please oh my god it was a great first snow experience with y'all!"

what the shit did i just say.

as if realising, all the approximately 14 pairs of eyes including the man grabbing onto me looked up into the sky as snowflakes fell just so purely on the ground.

if i had the chance to, i would say their eyes showed surprised and amusement, they were probably hiding small gapes under those masks.

"holy shit it's the first snow." one of them muttered for everyone to hear.

"we have more important things to do, don't you think so? i think we should leave this girl alone." a voice that i found familiar spoke.

both agreed to his statement as the man averted his attention to me.

"you will not speak of this to anyone, no matter what, understood?" he held my arm tightly.

I was sure the husky voice of his would have left an impression at the corner of my mind as the dizziness kicked in.

i nodded determinedly.

of course i wouldn't, no one would believe me anyways.

"leave."
