Hoseok heaved a long sigh of relief as he watched the couple who had just arrived in Seoul.
he would then occasionally glance at Jae's good friend, unsure as of why that young girl, even younger than Jae, had such a frown on her face.
the type of frown yoongi loves to have.
and is also having now.
meanwhile, Namjoon and Jin would just run to him, hug him, and remind him how much he was missed by them since he was told that the trip was 'horrendous' and 'too cringey' for them.
but what plastered a wide smile on his face was the same girl he loved as a younger sister.
he could finally hug her and tell her that she's back, and that he is happy for her.
he spreaded his arms wide open, waiting for the girl to jump into his embrace.
"hoseok." Jae hugged Hoseok tightly, closing her eyes.
"you're back." he smiled, voice deeper than the last time she had seen him.
"i am, hoseok. i am." Jae said it in a relieving tone, as if everything was over.
"i missed you." hoseok pulled away, then scanning her from top to bottom.
"wow, after getting a good look of your new style, i don't really feel good hugging you anymore. are you even jae?" he pinched her cheeks, as if he was confused at the girl's appearance.
slapping it away, the black haired girl rolled her eyes, "no shit."
hoseok laughed loudly, as if he had never been this happy, he then wrapped his arms around jae again, this time holding her tighter.
"how is life?" she spoke, voice muffled by his shirt.
"great, i guess." he shrugged.
"i have never seen such a depressing 'great' my whole life." jae chuckled dryly, still hugging him.
"you get it." hoseok slightly sang, not planning to cover up his sadness that practically stayed with him even when he had no one.
just at that moment, a PARTICULAR SOMEONE cleared his throat, standing behind the two.
hoseok smirked, then letting go of Jae, "look who's jealous."
jae chuckled, then facing Jimin who crossed his arms.
"you're so cute." she pinched Jimin's cheek, then ruffled his hair.
he pouted, gently tapping the tip of her nose, "you can only hug me for that long." he bargained like a kid.
"please. you would wish it if i didn't even hug them, right?" jae rolled her eyes.
"duh. everyone here can see that you're mine." jimin smirked, wrapped his arms around her shoulder.
"yea, we can. jae doesn't really know how to hide hickeys and it shows." a lower voice echoed behind the cold air of the airport.
"shut up, tae." jimin scoffed, then glancing at the girl beside his best friend before nodding at her, "yo, Ara."
"y'all still not holding hands? oh my god." jimin face palmed himself.
"wowow. I've been missing a lot, haven't i?" jae cut into the conversation, then stood in front of the two college students.
"no shit. you thought five years was enough to get rid of us, didn't you?" taehyung side eyed jae, then opening his arms wide, ready to welcome jae.
and when she was in his embrace, he smiled while rocking her from side to side, "thank you for coming back."
"thank you for waiting." jae smiled, then tried to ignore someone's groans of 'not again's.
she looked to her side to see an awkwardly standing Ara who had a backpack.
"ara!" jae opened one of her arm, asking her to join the hug.
hesitantly, Ara gave in to jae's request when she saw her beautiful smile.
jae surely did have a particular liking towards Ara since day one.
okay maybe not day one. like probably, day thirty.
and for once, Jae saw how complete her family is.
even though, there still was, that one person, she wishes is here.
...
the law educated female slammed her resignation letter on her ex-employer's table, then stood there as she watched him look at her with nervous and confusing eyes.
as well knowned and needed she was throughout the industry, the ombre green haired girl surely didn't like being in this stupid company.
"we can talk about this." the executive spoke.
but she was not fazed, everyone else wanted her in their company, and this company just wasn't treating her well enough, not listening to her advices, not giving her her regular pay, not taking good care of her well-being.
"go find another legal counsel." was the last thing she told her ex-boss before she left the company for good.
she is that lawyer, that legal counsel every company needs.
despite her young age, everyone would compete to have her, even if it meant to cost more than what anyone earns.
so looking for another better and bigger company wasn't difficult for her independent self.
because the moment she left the old, worn out, building, she received several calls for straight employment.
the single lady sat in her lonely apartment, one leg raised unglamorously as she stared into her Macbook, waiting for the right invitation to swim into her emails.
she bit into her apple, then looked at her phone, scrolling through her instagram feed.
she chuckled when another invitation came in, "-we would like to employ you blah blah. the pay would preferably be- nah." she then left the mail, waiting for the others to come.
then another one jumped out, making her press on it quickly.
'the pay would be and can be further discussed after meeting with you. we would set the minumum at...'
her eyes widened at the numbers.
she threw her apple into the bin, then stood up, doing her calculations again.
"which big company is this?" she asked herself, amazed.
she glanced up at the email's sender before her eyes turned emotionless drastically.
"oh."
but she knew that the past was the past, for the money, for the position, she had to work.
it was her policy.
but that meant that as a law student, she had to work with an illegal company that no one knows is illegal.
and that also meant that the company knew that she would be accepting their offer, even when she knows they are partly illegal.
they obviously needed her at times where they are meddled into those...stuff.
she sighed, honestly, i should start having at least a gucci bag or it wouldn't do myself good.
and she was currently jobless.
her aim was a company like that. but not like that too.
nonetheless, she sent them a reply with, offer accepted.
