"our CEO isn't here at the moment, so we will have to-"
ring.
clumsily, Secretary Lee fished his phone out of his pocket, answering the call quickly.
"y-yes sir. yes, you're back sir? okay, yes okay i will arrange it for you. yes, ye- yes yea yea okay." Lee watched as he got hung up by the CEO.
"update, the CEO's back. he wants to meet you the first thing he arrives in his office. which means, you gotta be there before he is." Lee pursed his lips, gesturing at the door.
Choi Sohye nodded, biting her lips as she took her documents and the file.
as they walked towards the office, Secretary Lee spoke, "um, about our CEO... he isn't the friendliest person... and also not the scariest person... but he despises undone work. he is that perfectionist that no one dares to befriend with."
Sohye nodded, "yea i know." she said absentmindedly.
"y-you know?"
she chuckled nervously, "haha i mean every CEO is like this. which is exactly why i prepared my work!" she raised her files and smiled.
Lee laughed, "you're such a bright lady, Ms Choi."
she frowned, "sohye."
"sohye." Lee corrected himself.
when they entered the surprisingly modernised office, Lee sent her a small smile, "good luck." he whispered, then left the office.
she half smiled, fidgeting with her files.
when she was left alone, her curiousity got the better of her.
since there was this bookshelf, full of financial books, and some fictional books that seemed to be never touched.
she glided her hand through the books, then stopped at one black book, that had no title.
she took it out, then realised that it wasn't just a book, it was a notebook.
it was empty.
the first, second, third, fourth, the whole notebook was empty.
she flipped it rapidly, then right when she thought there was nothing, a piece of paper dropped out.
picking it up, she found her hands shaking.
it wasn't a paper.
it was a polaroid, clean and nice, of her and Hoseok.
that time, she was still good friends with him, always getting rejected by him whenever she confesses.
and on that particular day, hoseok decided to bring her out for a movie, and took it as a friends night.
and after that, Sohye told someone to help take a picture of them.
sadly, there was only one frame left, so they played scissors paper stone, she could see how much he wanted that polaroid.
so when she told him to turn around to look at the 'kid that's cute', she changed her paper to scissors so it could lose to his stone.
and she would never forget how happy that boy was.
the date was written below the picture.
and when she turned the polaroid around (for no good reason), there were surprisingly words on it, written by a marker.
i didn't know paper could lose to stone until i met you. i miss you.
her heart when from the fast beating to the aching pain.
