"what if we can never get out?"

"then we'll stay here forever, together."

"together?"

"I promise."

it was then followed by silence.

Jimin closed his eyes, stroking Jae's hair as he held her in his arms.

"we'll get through this together."

but he didn't know who he was lying to.

"you know Jimin, not to break anything, I don't have confidence in getting through this after speaking to your father." Jae sighed, resting her chin on his shoulder.

"you spoke to him?" he pulled away, surprised and concerned.

"yeah. you weren't suppose to know but I can't lie for sake so yeah." Jae deadpanned.

"are you okay? did he injure you?" he started scanning her body for any injuries.

"not even close." Jae chuckled as she smiled softly at the boy.

"he more of like, bombarded me with words after words."

"I know you're lying, Ms Kwon. and I know it's Jimin's idea."

the old man spoke, smoke from his cigar catching her breath as she fanned it away.

her eyes then widened when she processed what he had just said.

"then why are you keeping me here? why don't you just kill me?" she was beyond confused, she didn't want to die but not killing her didn't really convince anything into her veins.

the old man chuckled, pressing his cigar into the black cup, then figuring that he should just throw it away.

"I should but..." he stood up from his seat, placing one finger under her chin as he lifted her face up.

she was terrified.

"but you're hyung's daughter..." he trailed his finger from her jawline to her chin.

she spat at him, causing him to back away in surprise.

"you don't deserve to call my father 'hyung'. " she glared at him deadly.

his eyes widened for a split second, as if he had just realising the true meaning of her words.

then he smirked, all the non-existent guilt behind, "you're just like your father. narrow-minded."

"or should I say..." he narrowed his eyes at her, "kind?"

he laughed like his words were the best joke that existed.

"shut up, Mr Park. for someone as stuck up, you shouldn't be the one saying that. at least my father was happy." she glared at him, frowning.

Park Dowoon wasn't fazed, he kept his face the same, always remaining in dominance.

"was he? did you actually expect him to be that super-hero? kids like you are just clueless. y'all don't learn." he chuckled sardonically.
