the tears will fade but they'll leave a stain.

...

"jae!" jimin faced me, panting.

"yeah?" I scanned him.

"I was just wondering...if you want to hang out today?" jimin said through his heavy breathings.

I fiddled with my fingers, looking down.

"um, I'm sorry but i-"

"jae! I'm sorry I'm late, let's go!" taehyung's voice startled me as jimin's eyes widened.

"u-uh I'm sorry jimin, but I've already planned to go and visit my mother with taehyung. another day?" I scratched the nape of my neck.

he tried not to furrow his eyebrows as he looked at taehyung, then the floor, you mean I can't visit her with you?

"o-oh. can I tag along? kind of miss your mum, it's been so long since I've seen her." jimin knew how shameless he sounded, yet he had to try.

her chest ached as her mind went fuzzy, making her all dizzy.

"I'm sorry jimin, I really am, but they have only a limit of two visitors per day. you know how strict and restrictive they are." she smiled at him, hoping to not show her nervousness.

he smiled. he smiled back at her. but everyone knew how forced it was.

it was so long since he had to force a smile in front of someone, especially her that he had forgot how it feels like to not smile.

"it's fine, y'all should really go now then. you can't keep aunty waiting." jimin patted her shoulder twice before turning around, not even planning on saying goodbye.

"well I guess that's how things are going to go." the quiet voice woke jae up from her thoughts, she had just realized that he was there.

she sighed, looking down, "I guess so."

...

"sohye! we're here!" jae waved at the girl who was looking around.

and when they had finally made eye contact, sohye facepalmed herself before running towards her best friend and boyfriend's best friend.

"hey guys! ready to go?" sohye took a deep breath, seemingly as nervous as jae.

all their attention was on her, all she could do was nod.

smiling at them, I found how quiet this park was yet my heart was the other way round.

then a sniffle switched my perspective.

our eyes went to the boy who was leaning onto the tree trunk as he looked down, letting his attractive red hair drop down to his face.

his elbows were on his knees and he was sitting down full on the grass patch.

on normal occasions, none of us would be too alerted or affected by someone who was crying in the park.

but we all knew that it was not what we thought when we instantly recognised the red fluffy hair that we have all knew better than anyone.

but the hair wasn't the only thing that taehyung had recognised.

maybe it was that one normal sniffle, or maybe it was the body structure, or the vibe the boy gave off.
