...

"I'm really sorry jae. I didn't want to make your life worse in any form."

here the two were, in the cafe, holding onto each others' mug of hot coffee, looking down.

"I...I understand. it's my fault too."

namjoon's eyes widened at jae's words.

"no no it's not. I was so stupid I didn't know what my brain was doing at that point of time i-" but jae cut him.

"namjoon, it's really okay. I know what you mean. look, if I were you, I would do the same. I swear. I almost did that to sohye." jae chuckled at her stupid thought of telling hoseok the truth behind sohye's back back when she was pissed at them.

namjoon's eyes widened then softened, "really?"

"yeah! I was literally ready to punch y'all and tell y'all the truth since sohye was so frustrated." jae showed her fist and clenched her teeth playfully.

namjoon just stared at her in disbelief and blankness.

"o-oh, no? then never mind." jae cleared her throat awkwardly.

then namjoon broke into a small pit laughter, showing his dimples that were as deep as his thoughts.

those laughter were genuine.

and that made jae smile as well.

and this allowed jae to look at namjoon in another perspective.

maybe the reserved yet scary looking bold and tall man wasn't so cold and secretive.

he needs to be happy as well.

namjoon wasn't someone that everyone could be close to, but jae was willing to try.

as for namjoon, they both knew she was always an outgoing and friendly person, there was no way communicating with jae would be hard.

in addition, socializing with each other isn't even hard in the first place.

they had so many common topics.

the two aces in school, jae would have a lot to learn and improve through the knowledge from namjoon. they could share information. about school of course.

"jae, I know you are fine with it but I really can't get over that hunch in me. I'm still, really, sorry." namjoon looked down, chuckling to himself.

the atmosphere grew cold again.

but jae wasn't going to let this entire thing go back to scratch.

jae surprised namjoon by placing both her hands on his, warming his cold ones, then, she smiled in a assuring and comforting form.

namjoon flinched and looked at jae who was completely unaffected.

"don't be sorry, please. I'll feel really bad as well. come on," she smiled cheekily.

namjoon didn't know how, but it was probably because he had never gotten such a comfort before for a very long time, he found himself melting into her touch, assured.

"you know, you remind me of someone." namjoon smiled softly.

jae tilted her head confusingly.
