letting his fingers touch my waist, I felt myself hoisted up into the air.

then the steps came naturally.

one step backwards. two steps backwards. three steps backwards.

my expression didn't fail to accommodate with jimin's hand reaching out for me.

and when everything stopped, both of us smiled at each other before bowing at the same few dance students in the studio.

some of them were gaping but the rest were clapping along with the teachers who had a proud smile on their faces.

"you sucked." jimin said through his smile.

"it takes one to know one, jimin-ssi." I did the same.

"and so both of us sucked." jimin gritted his teeth together.

before the teachers could say anything extra, both of us sat down on the floor.

then the same few whispers came.

"I don't understand, I can dance so much better than her."

"why was jimin so close to her though? that play boy had never cared about putting so much effort when there's girls."

"maybe he wants to play her."

"he's mine. she can just screw."

"actually hoped I could. " jae didn't know what she was referring to.

maybe it was her father. or her mother. or everything. or maybe, yesterday.

and when jimin heard her words, his gaze on her softened.

"hey," jimin shifted slightly.

glancing at him, jae blinked.

"yeah?"

biting his lips, he knew he wouldn't be able to be even more embarrassed than now.

"do you uh... wanna go grab ice cream or something like that after school?" jimin scratched his head, trying to avoid eye contact.

"are you asking me out?" jae chuckled at his unnatural tone.

"if it's the literal form then, yes." he nodded like a kid but jae's eyes could only widen.

"you thought it wasn't the literal form?" she teased him, wiggling her eyebrows.

"i- urgh you know what, I was going to treat you ice cream but I see you're not into it so never mind." jimin rolled his eyes, not believing that she could be this cheeky.

then jae's eyes widened, holy shit you're telling me that's free food.

"I didn't say-"

"jimin and jae eun, the item the both of you had choreographed was honestly terrific. and since we've seen all the items, we can now cast a vote to which item you think should be performed during speech day. the teachers will also cast a vote. please take this seriously as the principal expects perfection in this upcoming speech day. also, I would like jimin and jae eun to meet me outside after the both of you have casted your votes." Ms lee announced.
