but now that your lock has changed, I know I can't fit that way.

...

sighing, i unwrapped the bandage that has been there for days.

surprisingly, I managed to walk without needing the support of my right leg.

although it still has a small sour pain surging through my foot, walking like a normal human was manageable.

a smile reached my lips as I tried walking back and forth around the house.

I hope I can dance tomorrow.

walking down the stairs for breakfast, my parents greeted me.

"morning hun, ready for school?" my father said while looking up from his newspaper.

"yup. and look! I can walk now!" I enthusiastically said.

"you can always walk." my mother appeared.

"right." I nodded like an idiot.

after breakfast, I got up and got my bag, "gotta go to school now, bye!"

but my dad raised a hand to stop me from leaving the house while he struggled to drink all his coffee up, "I'll fetch you there today. I have to get something nearby before going to work so it won't be a problem. hold up."

I nodded since I hated the fact that walking there would take me just so long it was no difference to driving there.

"okay I'm ready, let's go." my father smiled as we got into the car after bidding goodbye to my mother.

when he started the engine, he started a conversation with me as well.

just like a father to a daughter.

"so how's school? everything's good?" he asked, looking at the road ahead of him.

"yeah, it's been great so far." I nodded.

"that's good to hear. but if anyone's bullying my little girl here, they're messing with the wrong person. tell me if something happens, okay?" he asked, suddenly full of concern.

he had always given me the freedom and independence as a child and a girl. but there was always this small protection he had for me. it wasn't like a child type of protection.

he seemed to have always been hiding a reason behind his every 'always tell me if something happens to you'.

I've never tried asking him. because I thought maybe one day he would tell me. and since nothing have actually happened to me, I've never really bothered as well.

as jae had all the thoughts in her mind, her father did as well.

while they had their own small talks as her father stopped in front of the traffic light, they didn't notice the familiar boy walking across.

jimin hummed with the song in his mind as he walked lazily to school across the traffic light.

running since he knew he would be late again, he panted when reached the other side as the sight of other cars went forward.

sighing at the fact that he still had a long way to walk and other cars would be there in a few minutes, he dragged himself towards the walkways.

as if everything had stopped the time, he witnessed a silver car driving from an alley in full speed.

as if it wasn't enough, the car went straight forward for the black car moving forwards.

it was in a few seconds, but for jimin it was a few hours, everything just happened.
