Caitlin's POV
"I can't believe that happened to you!" Blaire exclaimed.
Blaire and I were having breakfast at an old diner we used to come to. It was our little secret place to just relax and spend time together. I invited her to eat so I could tell her what had happened with Justin.
It had been around 4 days since the night we walked together and I haven't seen him since, which worried me. I know I should have probably been happy at the fact that he was gone but for some reason, I had a feeling it wasn't a good thing. It could have meant that the weird Derek guy hurt him and he was out to get me now, which put me in danger.
Whether it's just simply getting the mail or taking a walk around my neighborhood, I was always paranoid somebody would come and hurt me. Ever since the night I had a freaking gun pointed at me, I felt as if I can't be safe anymore.
"Yeah, it was pretty crazy." I said after taking another bite of my bagel.
"Well in my opinion, he doesn't seem like a total criminal. However, that Derek guy is a total creep. You need to be more cautious." She uttered.
"You're right. Nothing has happened in the past few days though. I haven't seen either of them."
"That's good!" She said, giving me a warm smile. "Well I gotta go. I have an assignment to finish. Call me if you need anything."
She tugged a strand of blonde hair behind her ear and picked up the bag that was hanging on the back of the chair. "You be careful, okay?"
I nodded and waved goodbye, then finished my meal alone.
I had left the diner and decided to drive up to a small boutique located downtown to get a few things. I was in the mood for a nice shopping spree so it was the perfect time since I had nothing to do. God, day offs were possibly the best thing ever. I entered the store and a lady behind the counter welcomed me.
"Do you guys have any dresses for a formal event?" I asked her.
She nodded and pointed to the back, near the dressing rooms. "We just had new arrivals come in. Check over there."
I thanked the lady and walked to where the beautiful dresses were hanging neatly on a rack. It was a small store with a few chandeliers hanging here and there. I liked the modern feeling. My eyes skimmed around, looking for a nice long evening dress. Something I could wear to a dinner of some sort. I noticed a black satin dress with a sheer skirt. I smiled to myself, pleased at how nice the dress was.
"Can I try this?" I asked the lady.
She looked up and smiled, then headed to a dressing room and unlocked it, opening the door for me. I walked into the room and quickly changed into the dress. After dusting myself off and unlocking the door, I stepped out to look in the mirror. The dress was perfect. I began to twirl around, examining it carefully. That is until, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
Justin's POV
I had been following Caitlin around for the past few days to make sure Derek wasn't doing anything. Ever since he said he was going to take something that belonged to me, I knew what he meant. And when Derek sets his mind on something, he did whatever it took to get it. I tried my best not for her to notice me but today, I started to get a little bored. Why not have some fun with this, right?
