~Chapter 32~
The pair made it back to the ball, hand in hand.
"Ready for that trouble?" Louis grinned widely while nodding and let himself be engulfed by Harry who draped the cloak around their bodies.
He was holding his dessert while the curly-haired lad kept the clothing around themselves. They've gotten amazing at walking together in complete sync, at first the taller lad kept stepping on his heels and they stumbled around a lot, exposing their ankles and similar fails but now they were graceful and truly invisible.
Louis smacked off a cupcake from Skeeter's plate as they reached it and placed their own cookie on its old spot. He couldn't help the tiny giggle leaving his mouth and turned back while Harry stayed still, so their noses rubbed together.
Both of them leaned back right away, chuckling nervously but Louis needed to snap out of it as they weren't 12-year-olds.
"Come on we want to be back for show time."
With that they slipped behind the curtains ahead of the windows and the taller lad folded the cloak while Louis peaked out on the side.
"Let's go." He pulled Harry out from behind and they casually walked towards the tables, acting like nothing in the world is out of order.
"What the bloody hell Harry?" Louis couldn't stop the groan forcing its way past his lips, Weasley blocking their vision. He wanted to watch their little surprise first row. But now that the stupid git grew a pair and asked what all of them wanted, everyone seemed fine to invite themselves into their conversation the room growing immensely quiet around them. The music was still filling most of the space though so they were not in danger of being exposed yet.
"Ron just not right now, I'll tell you everything later." With that Louis felt his hand clasping his suit and pushing him past the annoying Gryffindor. "Just in time."
They shared a look of mischief both grinning from ear to ear as the woman took a bite from their creation.
She dropped the cupcake perhaps feeling the effect already. Soon her limbs started to fold in an unnatural way and her scream turned into a screech.
Everyone watched a huge long-wattled umbrellabird standing in the place of Skeeter. They weren't the prettiest of birds and that truly matched her inside. Annoying, insufferable and way too eye-catching but not in a good way.
"Blimey what the hell is that?" Someone asked loudly even the music stopping. Louis' eyes locked with Harry's again and both of them broke. Their laughter was the only noise apart from her exasperating screeching.
"You know what? Never mind the beginning of this night, this was worth every second." Harry nodded smearing actual tears from his eyes.
"One hundred percent agreed, we're awesome." They laughed more while walking over and taking her camera, making the bird shriek obnoxiously.
"Oh don't mind me." Harry got the hiccups from laughing too much making Louis smile fondly. He took the pictures she made tonight, ripping the whole film out as it was.
"Have fun now oh so mighty Rita Skeeter and don't worry I'm sure you can turn yourself back since nothing stays hidden from you."
"Bloody hell Tomlinson you have style."
"And a great taste." They cracked up all over again and started to head out of the room. Snape got in their way but Louis only grinned at him.
"I think we're out for tonight Professor, Styles and I are incredibly tired from all the dancing and eating."
Snape without a word uttered got out of their way, making the pair grin widely. "I'm happy that you have nothing to do with this, especially after cleaning my storage. I'm sure there's nothing missing from it."
Harry and Louis turned back with the most innocent smile they could muster. "Of course not, when would we ever cause trouble?" Snape rolled his eyes while the lads left everyone gobsmacked.
"So that was pretty epic." Even though they weren't sneaking around under the cloak, the curly-haired lad still walked Louis to the dungeons, warming his heart so much.
"It truly was, I knew it from the first year but we make an amazing team." The tiny lad agreed, smiling as Harry turned back.
"Goodnight Harold."
"Goodnight Tomlinson." He watched the tall form distancing until he turned the corner after which he headed up to his own dorms. He was sure that no one will be back anytime soon.
He changed into his comfortable pjs, pulling over them a hoodie as to not freeze then cuddled under his sheets right off. Grumpy jumped up next to him, settling down in the crook of his neck and shoulder, being as lazy as ever.
Louis was claspinging the films above himself, holding the backs towards the lights so the pictures would show. They were all amazing actually and he looked so happy with Harry.
His eyes were technically glowing while staring at the taller lad, his affection showing way clearer than he would have wanted.
Not having the heart to destroy them, he simply slipped them into one of his books that he got from his mother for his birthday and closed his eyes.
They definitely caused some trouble and he hoped to do that again sometime soon.
