Pep had known Gerard for two hundred and eighty-five years and he knew that the other man never did anything without thinking things through.

However the moment Gerard had turned up with an unconscious Daniella in the middle of the night, Pep wondered what the younger vampire had been thinking.

“I didn't know where else to take her,” Gerard pleaded as Cristina appeared sensing the younger vampire’s distress; she offered him a reassuring smile as she checked the brunette over.

Pep sighed as he watched his mate, he didn't know what had happened but he knew that it must have been something for Gerard to freak out like this.

“She just passed out,” Gerard said as Cristina told him to lay the brunette down on the couch, the vampiress offered the Spaniard a glance as she continued to look Daniella over.

Pep rested a hand on Gerard’s shoulder as his blue eyes watched Cristina continued to check the brunette over; it was clear that this worried Gerard even more.

“Gerard, you need to tell me what happened… I can’t help her if you don’t,” Cristina said as Gerard ran a stressed hand through his hair; he nodded as he tried to gather his thoughts about what had happened.

Gerard slowly recounted the entire evening back to Pep and Cristina, it was clear that whatever had happened to Daniella had been sudden and unexpected.

“Did she complain of any headaches when she was with you?” Cristina asked making the younger vampire shake his head making her frown, she knew that this was serious but she didn't want to worry Gerard more than she had to.

“It could be related to her nightmares,” the vampiress murmured knowing that now would be a good time to tell her mate and coven member what she had discovered.

Pep looked at his mate concerned as she looked between the two male vampires and sighed; she glanced at Daniella oncemore before she spoke.

“I came across something while I was doing some research, this has happened before,” Cristina said softly making the two male vampires stare at her confused; they wondered what she was referring to and why she had waited to tell them this.

“What happening between you and Daniella, it happened to the Creator,” Cristina said carefully making Gerard and Pep shift nervously, they were uncomfortable about the subject; no one spoke of the creator anymore, it was a taboo subject for any vampire.

No one could really recall why but it didn't feel right to speak of the creator of their species; however it did intrigue Gerard and Pep slight about what Cristina had discovered.

The vampiress glanced at an unconscious brunette; it would be a while before she woke again since her mind needed to recover.

“I had a friend of mine in the archives do some research… the reason that taking a human mate is forbidden is because it was something that the creator did,” Cristina said being careful not to speak his true name, it was against the law to speak it and she didn't want to cause them more trouble than they were already in.

Pep moved to sit next to his mate to comfort her while Gerard looked at Daniella concerned about her.

“Their story is like yours Gerard; the creator fell in love with a human and choose her for a mate, like you did with Catharine. However another vampire became jealous and in a fit of passion killed her, the creator is said to have grieved for a millennium before he saw her again,” Cristina recounted what she could remember of the story that her friend had sent her. Gerard swallowed as he listened to Cristina, the story that she was telling sounded so much like his own.

“She had no memory of the Creator, she’d reincarnated, but had nightmares about her former life; it is unknown what happened to them but according to what I know, he turned her and set up the council,” Cristina said making Gerard nod as he took in what he was being told.

Pep swallowed as he looked at his mate and held her close, he knew what this meant if the story was true; Daniella was Catharine, Catharine was Daniella.

Blinking softly, Daniella slowly pushed herself to sit up; she couldn't remember what had happened but she knew that she wasn’t in her bedroom anymore.

“How are you feeling?” asked a voice making the brunette jump before she realised that it was Gerard, there was something she didn't recognise in his eyes as he handed her a glass of water.

Daniella nodded as she tried to wrap her head around what had happened as the Spaniard sat next to her and watched her closely; his eyes searching hers in hope of some sort of recognition of who he was.

“I’m fine, what happened?” Daniella asked confused, she knew that he had headed home to his own apartment however she couldn't recall what happened after that. Gerard sighed as he ran a hand through his hair and looked at her worried.

“You called me so I rushed over as fast as I could and when I arrived you had lost consciousness so I took you to see a friend of mine before I brought you back to my apartment,” Gerard said making Daniella nod, she couldn’t remember any of it.

Carefully the vampire kissed the brunette softly, making her look at him confused as he ran a hand through her hair.

“I thought something had happened to you,” Gerard murmured making Daniella look at him; she felt horrible for making him feel like that.

“I’m sorry for worrying you Gerard,” the brunette said making him shake his head and kiss her again; he would wait until the right time to tell her the truth but right now, it didn't matter.

“As long as you’re okay it doesn’t matter,” he told her as the brunette wrapped her arms around his neck and cuddled into him; Gerard had sent Cesc to compel her room-mates into believing his version of events, so that Daniella wouldn’t be any wiser to what had really happened.

Sierra hissed furiously as she paced her room, she looked at the vampire who stood nervously a couple of feet from her; she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

“You’re positive?” the red headed vampiress snarled, making the vampire nod as he shifted away from her nervously.

“Positive mistress, he took her back to his apartment once he left the coven house,” the vampire said as Sierra stalked the room, she couldn't believe that Gerard was more interested in the human than her.

The red head wanted him as her mate and she couldn't believe that he had chosen a human female over someone like her; she had thought that he would come to his senses after she had last spoken to him.

“Tell the others it’s time,” Sierra told the vampire who nodded before he scampered out of the room.

The red head had put in some much time and effort into seducing Gerard and she wasn’t going to let some human take away the position that was rightfully hers.

It was her destiny to become Lady Sierra Piqué of the European vampire realm, not some human that just stumbled into Gerard’s life and was now stealing him from her.
