Daniella sighed as she ran a hand through her hair; she couldn't believe that she was dating a vampire, all the stories that her Abuelo had told her as a child didn't prepare her for this.

Gerard watched her as she sat across the room from him, things had been pretty silent for a while and he worried that maybe she was considering leaving him; he didn't know what he would do if she did.

“How did you become a vampire?” Daniella asked softly as she turned to face Gerard, it had taken her a while to wrap her head around the fact that Gerard was a vampire but she was curious about him.

The Spaniard sighed as he ran a hand through his hair and looked at the brunette across from him; she watched him innocently until he spoke.

“I was born in 1700 and Pep was a close family friend, he always seemed so interested in me when I was a child,” Gerard said explaining a little of his back story, Daniella nodded as she watched him carefully.

“It was just after my twenty-fifth birthday, I had gone riding with some friends and a storm had hit, I don’t remember much but I know that Pep didn't have a choice but to turn me so that I would survive,” Gerard said as he slowly walked towards Daniella so that she wasn’t afraid of him; he swallowed at she stilled for a moment to watch him.

“I’ve been a vampire ever since, my family were the first to be changed by the creator, my Aunt and Uncle… they now rule Europe,” Gerard said with a shrug making Daniella stare at him; she licked her lips as she slowly processed what she was being told.

Gerard carefully took the brunette’s hand making her look at him warily, he knew that she was a little scared about him being a vampire; he could sense it through their bond that had gotten stronger now that she had his blood in her system.

“I love you Dani… you don’t have to be scared of me, I will never hurt you,” Gerard said trying to reassure her, he didn't want her to be scared of him but he knew that now that she knew he was a vampire, it would take a while to get used to the idea that he wasn’t human.

Daniella took a deep breath as she tried to wrap her head around what was happening, she couldn't believe that the man that she loved was a blood drinking monster.

Lionel felt Cesc rest a hand on his shoulder as he drank from a man that they had found; the Argentine released him slowly and licked his lips as the man slumped to the ground unconscious.

“It still burns,” Lionel whimpered softly making Cesc look at David, who flashed the two a smile as they started out of the alleyway; they were glad that they had been able to control Lionel so that he hadn’t killed anyone yet.

“You’ll get used to it Leo… it’ll take time,” Cesc reassured his friend, who offered him a weak smile; he wasn’t sure what he had expected vampirism to be like but he hadn’t thought it would be like this.

The three vampires walked down the street in search of Lionel’s next meal, they knew they couldn't return to the coven house until Daniella had left without the fear of Lionel losing control and killing her.

“You’ll want to stock up on sun cream, just so you don’t burn in the sun,” David murmured making Lionel look at him and nod, he wished that he hadn’t been turned the way that he had; he had wanted to be a vampire but not like this. Cesc offered him a smile as he wrapped his arm around Lionel’s shoulder in comfort.

“It’ll be okay Leo… we’re all here for you no matter what,” he said trying to reassure him; they knew that he hadn’t wanted to be turned the way he had been and it was all still a shock for him.

“Plus with the coven… you’ll never really be alone,” David said remembering how much he had relied on the others after he had been turned; he couldn't have done it without them and now he had to help Lionel.

The Argentine smiled softly as he nodded at what the others said, he knew that there was no going back now; what was done was done and now he had to live with it.

“Is Gerard mad?” Lionel asked as he thought back to the last few hours of his new life, he hadn’t seen the large Spaniard and it worried him that he hadn’t seen him. Cesc offered him reassuring smile as he shook his head.

“No, he’s with Daniella right now… he had to revive her using his blood,” Cesc explained making Lionel feel guilty; he knew that Gerard loved Daniella and because of what happened, he would have to tell her that he was a vampire and risk losing her now.

“I need some time Gerard… I can’t completely wrap my head around this,” Daniella said as she looked up into the vampire’s blue eyes, she could see that he understood what she was saying.

Gerard nodded as he gently cupped her face making her look at him, she could see that he was hurt by her decision; however she knew that she couldn't straighten out her thoughts before she decided what she was going to do.

“Would you like me to take you home?” Gerard said softly making Daniella nod, she knew that she couldn't stay here with him and going home would be the best idea right now for her.

The vampire sighed as he stepped away from her to collect his car keys, while the brunette carefully changed back into her own clothes from the day of the crash; she was surprised to find that they had been washed and she had a feeling that Gerard has something to do with that.

The two were silent as they left the house, Daniella hadn’t missed that the place seemed completely empty as they left; though she knew that the rest of Gerard’s coven would be hovering about.

She wondered if they had been listening to her and Gerard’s conversation and were staying out of the way so that they could talk; however she doubted they were pleased that she wasn’t sticking with Gerard after he has saved her life.

Gerard walked Daniella back to her apartment and offered her a small smile before he turned to leave; the brunette quickly stopped him from leaving, making him look at her confused.

Daniella pressed a kiss to his lips, Gerard furrowed his brow as she then stepped away from him.

“Gracias for saving me,” the brunette said making him nod at her with a soft smile.

The two stood awkwardly for a moment, Daniella knew that the moment that she walked away things between them wouldn’t be the same; she couldn't bring herself to end it right now.

“I love you Dani, I will wait as long as it takes for you,” Gerard said making her smile sadly at him; she felt even worse now that he had said that.

The vampire offered her one final smile before he walked away, Daniella watched him leave as she leant back against the door; she felt her heartbeat wildly in her chest before she called after Gerard.

“Geri, I love you too,” Daniella said making Gerard stop walking and look back at her with a smile, before he disappeared around the corner.

Daniella sighed with a small smile as she moved to unlock her apartment, it was perfectly clear that she didn't have a choice in what happened now.
