Chapter Thirteen: First Signs of Trouble

Gerard deepened the kiss softly as he held back his instincts that screamed at him to claim Daniella as they made out on her bed; the brunette’s fingers ran through his hair as things between them started to heat up. Gerard pulled away from her carefully as he took a deep breath,

“We should slow down,” he murmured as he kissed her again; the last week; Pep and the coven had been trying to find out more about why Daniella not only looked like Catharine but why she was also dreaming about her life.

The brunette nodded as she pulled him closer, the Spaniard allowed his hands to slip under her peach tape yarn vest top before Midnight knocked something off the bed making the couple pull apart. Gerard glared at the cat which stared at him innocently as Daniella moved to pick the item off the floor.

“So how has training been?” the brunette asked, Sandro was attempting to keep Daniella away from Gerard and had been keeping her away from Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper so that there was less chance of the Spaniard leaving his scent on her even after the bargain that Pep had made with Sandro.

“The usual,” Gerard said as he wrapped his arms around her waist and into the pockets of her distressed mid wash boyfriend jeans and slowly started to kiss down her neck; Daniella bit her lip as she tilted her head back to give him better access.

However that didn't stop her from moaning, Gerard smirked as he nipped at the exposed flesh; he knew that he would have to leave soon, though he wished that he didn't have to.

“You have a match tomorrow,” Daniella murmured softly her eyes fluttering closed as Gerard held her against his chest; however he pulled away as he felt his instincts start to surface.

He wanted to claim her, let the world know that she was his and no one was going to take her this time; the monster inside of him screamed at him to make sure that he didn't lose her again.

“I should be heading home,” Gerard said even though it was a lie, he would return when she was asleep and watch over her until she woke.

Daniella nodded a little disappointed, they had been together nearly three weeks now and she didn't know what it was but it made her uneasy when he wasn’t by her side.

Pursing her lips, Sierra watched as Gerard kissed the brunette goodbye as he stepped out of her apartment; she snarled as she watched a smile form on the human’s face as he left and she closed her apartment door.

The red head hadn’t believed the news that she had heard when she was visiting a friend’s; Gerard was the talk of the Barcelona vampire community.

Sierra couldn't understand why he was so interested in the human; she wasn’t anything special, a smirk appeared on the vampiress’ face as she moved from her hiding spot as Gerard exited the building. The vampire stopped walking and snarled as he picked up on her scent.

“Hola Gerard it has been a while,” Sierra purred as she approached him, she pursed her lips as he stopped her from touching him, a deep snarl erupting from his chest as he stared at her.

“What are you doing here?” Gerard hissed at her, he didn't like the idea that Sierra was so close to Daniella’s home; the red head was known to be vicious when it came to getting what she wanted.

Gerard didn't doubt that she would harm Daniella, whether he had claimed the brunette or not; he knew that Sierra wanted him to choice her as his mate something he didn't want.

“You haven’t come to me in a while… and word on the street is you’ve found yourself a new human lover,” Sierra said licking her blood red lips and looking up at Daniella’s apartment making Gerard hiss at her.

Even if it had been over a hundred years since the Royal Family had changed the law on the use of human’s, it didn't mean that it made Gerard any less protective of Daniella; he refused to lose her like Catharine. Sierra stepped towards him and smiled at him smugly.

“I’m sure that your Uncle would be thrilled to hear that you’ve chosen another human as a mate… it ended so well last time,” Sierra teased before Gerard wrapped his hand around her throat; he didn't care that anyone could see them, he couldn't have her threatening him like that.

Sierra swallowed nervously, she should have known better than to upset a vampire when she threatened their mate.

However while the law on relationship’s with humans had been relaxed, it was still a law against having a human as a mate; Gerard had already broken that rule with Catharine, though the bond hadn’t been completed, and now he was attempting to take Daniella as his permanent mate.

“You harm her Sierra… and I swear, I’ll kill you,” Gerard snarled at her as he dropped her to the floor, the red head glared at him as he slipped away from her and into the shadows.

Daniella yawned as she bid her friends goodnight, she slowly made her way to her bedroom and closed her door behind her as she slipped off her maroon canvas lace up pumps; she slowly prepared for bed by changing into her black lace detail satin playsuit before she headed for her bathroom to brush her teeth.

Daniella frowned as she noticed how pale that she looked as a sharp pain crippled her; she cried out silently as she clutched her head as she leant against her bathroom counter to support herself.

Daniella didn't know what was going on; closing her eyes, she slowly sank to the floor as the world around her spun.

Daniella couldn't bring herself to call out for help, she felt sick and the need to have Gerard by her side was suddenly urgent but she couldn't move as she lay on her bathroom floor.

The brunette whimpered as she heard Midnight start to cry, the cat rubbed herself against Daniella for a moment before she scurried out of the room as if she was going to get help.

Midnight meowed loudly as she clambered onto the window, her eyes focused on Gerard’s hidden shadow as he moved from his hiding spot concerned at why the cat was acting like this.

Midnight quickly turned on her tail and led Gerard into the bedroom; he furrowed his brow before he heard Daniella’s whimpers, he looked at the cat as he quickly moved to the bathroom.

The vampire cursed as he moved to Daniella’s side, he carefully pulled her into his arms causing her to whimper as she clung to him.

“Geri?” the brunette murmured making Gerard nod as he quickly stood, he knew that he was going to have to take her to the coven house to have Pep check her over.

“It’s okay nena… I’m here,” Gerard said as Daniella went limp in his arms, the vampire cursed as he knocked the lights off in her bedroom and started for the window; he didn't know what was happening but he needed to get her to Pep quickly.

“I’ll keep her safe,” Gerard said making Midnight nod, before he slipped out of the window and out towards where his car was hidden.

Gerard glanced at Daniella who was unconscious in his arms as he walked down the street, he wanted answers and he was going to get them.
