"Girl, I can't do this."

Bey sighed over the speaker phone.

"Lashontae, cut it out. This guy is flying there just to take you out. Of course, you can go twenty minutes up the road and meet the man for dinner." She responded.

I put my diamond studs in and perfected my wing liner without replying.

"You're nervous and that's understandable, but for real, I think it'll be good. You haven't been on a date in three years."

While I thought I wanted to wear my straightened hair down, I threw it up in a high ponytail real quick to see if I preferred it that way.

Yep, much better.

"Maybe you're right." I replied checking myself out in the mirror.

We talked for another twenty minutes while I finished getting ready.

After a while, security from the gate texted that the car was pulling in, so I wrapped up our conversation.

"I'ma call you later."

"Don't just say that, call me when you get in, I need all the details," She let me know, "love you. Have fun."

"Love you too."

I glanced at myself again in the mirror, grabbed my YSL bag to match my black leather stilettos, and strutted outside.

Craig, one of my hired drivers, stood beside the black on black Lincoln Navigator.

I saw Rich and a few other guys loading into Tahoe's prepared to follow and gave my attention back to the gentleman in front of me.

"Good evening."

"What's up, Craig?" I spoke as he opened the door.

"Another day in paradise." He replied smoothly with a smile.

Once my seatbelt was on, he slowly pulled down the long ass driveway and off we went.

Along the ride, I texted mom to check on my babies and passed the rest of the time scrolling on Instagram.

Eventually, we pulled up to the Peabody, a luxury antique five star hotel that housed a few restaurants.

"Okay, Cute." I mumbled as the driver pulled in front, parked, and came to open my door.

There were two security escorts standing at the entrance that walked over as soon as I got out.

"Good evening, Ms. Heckard." One of them spoke, "May we escort you in? Your date has arrived."

"Certainly."

As I walked in, a few people spoke catching my attention.

I waved to a few before getting on the elevator and going up to the second floor where the steakhouse was.
