Trey

"Daddy!"

Rose and TJ yelled as they rode the electronic swings with Tae.

I couldn't help but smile at the joy on their little faces. It was immensely clear they were having the time of their lives.

While being in an amusement park on my day off with small kids and being a celeb was like a death wish, today had been good. Shit wasn't as hectic as normal and nothing wild took place.

I waved as they came around again screaming to the top of their lungs.

I looked down in my camera at Trinity as she ate her Dippin Dots.

She begged for ice cream since we arrived; she decided to stay off this ride to finish it.

"Can Daddy have some?"

I stopped the video, put my phone in the pocket of my joggers, and picked her up.

"Yes." She replied sweetly.

She put some on her spoon and shoved it in my mouth.

"Mmm...good. Thank you, baby doll." I said kissing her cheek.

She offered me another couple spoonfuls that I willingly inhaled before putting her down to finish.

"Trey?"

Was that Lauren? Oh shit.

"Hey." I replied as the ride started to stop.

"Is she good?" Junior asked as she walked in my path.

"Yeah, for a second." I mumbled.

Quickly, I hugged her hoping she would speak and leave.

"You look good." She spoke, "how are you?"

"I'm aight, you?"

"I'm okay." She said noticing Trinity on my side, who was curiously looking up at her.

"Wow, you're a beauty." She said touching Trin's cheek, "how are you?"

"Fine." She responded.

"She's so pretty, Trey."

"What do you say?"

"Thank you." Trinity replied shyly.

"You're welcome," her eyes traveled back to me, "You doing the Daddy Day Care thing today?"

"No, actually..."

"Why would you be here today?" Tae asked Lauren directly as she approached with TJ and Rose on each side.

"Oh shit," Lauren stuttered while turning red, "I wasn't...I mean I didn't mean to interrupt. I'll go, it was great seeing you, Trey."

She apologetically glanced at Tae and I again and walked away. I watched the hate across Tae's face as she watched her.
