"Angel, it's two in the morning. Why won't you go to sleep?" I said as I held Taylor directly in front of my face.
At only six weeks, she was so nosy and loud.
Every time I said something to her, she responded with a loud screech or a cry depending on her mood.
It was like she was having a conversation with me.
Since Tae stayed up last night with her, tonight was my shift.
Both Taylor and I woke up at midnight and almost two hours later, she didn't seem sleepy at all.
"Babe, want me to take her?" Tae asked walking in the den half sleep rubbing her eyes.
"I'm good. Take ya fine ass back to bed."
"Trey, I can take her."
"What I say?"
She threw her hands up and turned to leave us alone.
"Okay, if you say so."
"Mommy don't think I got this under control, but I do. We good, ain't we boo?" I asked pecking Taylor's lips.
She responded with a loud screech making me smile.
My phone buzzed to my left.
It was a text from Kevin with a bunch of dates for me to add to my calendar for the next week.
When I turned my attention back to Taylor, her eyes had finally closed.
I rocked her a little longer to let sleep settle in good and walked us back into our bedroom.
Tae was sitting straight up in bed looking at her phone.
Her head popped up when she noticed us.
"She finally sleep?"
I nodded and laid her in the bassinet on the side of our bed.
"Why aren't you sleep?"
I got in beside her and snuggled up close.
She shrugged.
"I ain't sleepy no more."
"I bet I can make you sleepy."
I leaned in and placed a small bite on the side of her neck.
"Not mister I don't wanna hurt you, we gotta follow doctors orders wanna make me sleepy."
"Taylor is six weeks now though. And Dr. Dominguez said wait to be cleared for penetration. There's a lot between nothing and penetration."
Taking my left hand, I carefully found my way up her thigh.
The way she bit her bottom lip let me know she was enjoying the thought of intimacy more than she wanted to let on.
I took the covers back and took a glance at her in the tank and gray boy shorts.
