A week later...
"I'm glad you're home." Trey said snuggled against my back.
"Me too."
I rocked Taylor while her sleepy eyes looked back at me. She was fighting sleep I'm sure because she thought she had to keep tabs on me. She'd been attached to my hip since I'd been home.
I was super relieved to be away from that damn hospital.
Tonight I was sleeping at home in my bed with my man while our kids slept down the hall.
The simple thought of that made me so happy.
"I wonder how long everyone will be here." I said thinking out loud.
"I hope not too long," he replied wrapping his arms around my waist, "as much as I enjoy them, I'm ready to get back to our normal."
He glanced down over my shoulder at Taylor and smiled.
"Still not sleep, ladybug?" He spoke gently.
Instead of responding verbally, her eyes went to his and then slowly back to mine.
I shook my head and kissed her forehead.
"You like, 'lady, I'm not taking my eyes off you ever again,' that's it?" I teased kissing her nose next.
He laughed slightly.
"She thinking she gotta keep an eye on us."
"I'ma be here for a while so she ain't got shit to be worried about." I replied begrudgingly.
"Most definitely, you about to be chilling." He said turning the TV off.
"And what will you be doing?"
"You forget I got an album coming in three weeks?" He said matter of factly.
"Right, I guess I assumed you would be here until I gained my strength back." I replied.
"I been off with you for the last couple weeks babe," he said sighing, "it's crunch time. You know how it is."
"Right," I mumbled feeling myself become annoyed, "fine."
His eyes glanced my way skeptically.
"This really an issue?"
"Nope."
Taylor's eyes finally closed as I stroked her cheek.
"You think I shouldn't put the project out now?" He said softer.
I shrugged.
"That's your business."
"You think the label will be cool with me pushing my album back to stay at home with you? You know they not hearing that."
