"Lashontae, where are you?" I asked walking through the suite.
It was day four of our baecation in Punta Canta. Four days ago, I woke Tae up, told her our bags were packed for vacation, blindfolded her before having us driven to the PJ, and flew us back here to the DR for some much needed alone time. Instead of packing each day with activities, we literally took it easy; ate, rested, and enjoyed one another in a beautiful atmosphere.
While the trip had been nothing short of cerebral, tonight I planned to take the trip from a cool reset to a memory we would never forget.
I didn't hear a reply as I walked towards the bedroom. Instead of calling her again, I went in and found her stretched across the bed with earbuds in scribbling in a notebook.
She was in her own world as I laid against the door frame and listened as she sung softly.

I closed my eyes as my heart beat quickly. Whenever she sung, which wasn't often lately, the shit melted me. The lyrics struck such profound emotion in me and made what I planned even more special.
