Lashontae
"Tae?"
Slowly, I came to and opened my eyes.
Steffon stood in front of me fully dressed with his luggage beside the door and his backpack on.
Oh shit, he knows about last night.
"My bad, I hate to wake you. I got an emergency though."
"What's wrong?" I asked stretching as I sat up in the bed.
"My mom had a heart attack. I gotta get home." He said as his voice cracked.
"Oh my God."
I jumped up and raked my hair back.
"I had my people schedule me a PJ out here to get me back to Maryland. She's in critical condition and I feel like I need to be there...."
"You don't have to explain," I interrupted grabbing his hand, "I'm so sorry. Wait, I should leave too. We came here together."
Instantly, I went over to grab me an outfit.
"No, I think you should stay with your people and enjoy your vacation."
"That's crazy. We came together. This is a couples trip." I repeated.
He leaned forward and kissed my lips.
"Enjoy yourself, aight?" He said, "i'ma keep you posted."
I sighed and nodded before walking him to the front door.
"I'll be praying for you, your family, and your mother. She'll pull through." I assured him.
"I hope so."
He let go of his luggage and hugged me tightly.
"I'm so sorry."
"Don't be." I replied in his embrace as I rubbed his back, "the last thing you need to be worried about is me. I'll be fine."
He let me go, kissed me one last time, and walked out of the door.
"Good morning."
I mean mugged Kelly and walked past her.
"Did your man just leave? Where's he going?"
"He's not my man. He's going home. His mother had a heart attack." I mumbled walking back to my room.
"I take it you're still mad."
"Fuck you." I replied.
I went back in my room and got myself prepared for the day.
After my shower, taps on my door caught my attention.
This better not be Trey's ass.
I swung the door open and Ciara looked back at me nervously.
