Trey
Six months later...
"The Carters have expanded the empire. Let me find out you tryna catch up with me." Tae said kissing her new niece, Rumi Carter's cheek as I rubbed her sandy brown hair.
Shortly after Tae and Bey's rift months ago, Jay called us over for dinner to clear the air. While there, they announced that they were expecting twins; which Bey found out after arriving home from her trip. It explained in part her and Tae's fallout and helped them to reconnect beautifully. Jay and I were glad about it to; life was no fun when they were into it.
Six months later, the twins were here and gorgeous.
Beyoncé laughed weakly.
"Almost, one more and we're tied."
"You're right." Tae replied.
The new heirs, a healthy boy and girl, Sir and Rumi, had arrived and were precious. My baby girl was almost one but being around newborns made me wanna go half with Tae all over again.
"Man, a noisy house full of kids like y'all." Jay mumbled rocking Sir.
"And what's so wrong with that?" Tae asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's loud as fuck and I'm too old for all that. That's what's wrong." He responded as he chuckled.
"Can't argue with that." I added as we laughed.
"I'm glad y'all came. I ain't a vet like you sis, this was only my second time and Blue damn near grown. I was weirded out when I went into labor." Bey said.
"Hell yeah she was." Jay confirmed.
"I needed my mama and sisters." Bey said as she frowned.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
She looked at me and winced.
"Cramp in the poom poom."
Tae winced and took short breaths like she was the one in pain.
"Small breaths through it, girl. Ooh, I remember."
"No, I think I need the cooling thingy."
"I got you. Here Trey," Tae said handing Rumi over, "let me help her."
"Okay."
Gently, I took her and smiled down as she stared up at me.
"Walk with me to the snack machine." Jay suggested.
"Bet."
We went out in the hall and walked down to the snack corner. It was completely quiet as our steps made noise. This entire floor was cleared; no one on the floor except family and a few doctors and nurses.
"How you feel now that the twins finally here?"
He blew out a breath.
"I'm excited, but then nervous. It was hard being in the house with one when Blue was a baby, now two? I'ma drink more, I can feel it."
