"Maybe you should go see the kids, rest up, shower. You haven't been home since you got back." Mumma replied as she rubbed my back.
I shook my head defiantly.
"Not leaving."
"We're here," Solo spoke from beside her as sipping a Red Bull. "April's right, you should try to unwind for a second and come back. We don't need you laid beside her cause you've driven yourself crazy. We can handle it until you get back."
"I'm not leaving until I know she's okay." I replied running my hands over the top of my head.
It was eight in the morning the day after rushing her here and so far no word on what was really going on. All we knew was she was sedated and on oxygen while they figured out what went wrong.
Everyone was trying to convince me she would be fine but the fact that she had to have oxygen meant something was seriously wrong and if I didn't find out what soon, I was gonna lose my shit.
I called Mumma after checking Tae in with the front desk yesterday evening. I didn't know who she called or who was coming, but she arrived at the hospital thirty minutes after hanging up and Solo had arrived an hour ago.
I could tell they were freaked out too but trying to stay calm for me. I appreciated it but nothing would settle me except the doctor coming out and telling me she was gonna be okay.
"Baby, are you sure?" Mumma pressed.
"Mumma..."
She held her hands up in defeat to keep from riling me.
"Okay. I won't ask again."
"Here's Belle." Solo said taking another sip before walking towards her.
Anxiously, she made her way towards us.
"How is she?" She asked as Solo approached.
"We don't know. Still waiting." Solange replied as they embraced.
"All this time and they don't know?"
Her voice trembled nervously.
Mumma walked over, grabbed her hands, and whispered something in her ear.
Belle nodded, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath before they embraced for quite a while.
When they finally let go of one another, Belle came over and sat beside me.
Consolingly, she took my hand in hers.
"Hi Trey."
"Sup Ma?" I said softly.
"How you feeling?" She asked, her eyes conveying genuine concern.
I gave her hand a squeeze.
"I'm trying to be okay, but I'm coming apart at the seams, for real."
