"You feeling okay?"

I nodded as the plane descended in Houston, TX; one of the places I knew as home.

While the doctors had cleared me from all health restrictions, my family was still on my ass and babying me every five seconds.

"I'm still fine," I uttered to Bey closing my MacBook, "no nausea or fatigue. You ain't gotta keep asking me that every five seconds."

"Just making sure. Not sure if you remember, but it was after that plane ride that you..." she started.

"I know and I get it, but I'm fine, trust me."

When the plane stopped, I stood and stretched.

I flew here from Los Angeles with Jay and Bey for Solange's proposal happening tonight. I was so excited for her and I couldn't wait.

Of course she was clueless, crying several times lately about Alan's "distance". He'd set up everything perfectly for the evening and I knew she was about to be geeked.

Trey and I still hadn't spoken since my mother's driveway; other than via text. We kept it light through message; asking about each other's health and day, and the well being of the children. His text this morning told me he'd see me later which meant he was coming today too.

We got off the plane and in the SUV taking us to our childhood home Tina still owned. It'd been fifteen years at least since I'd been there so I was anxious to see if it still appeared the same.

Alan wanted us there when he and Solange arrived to propose. Then, we'd spend the rest of the weekend hanging out at the house.

"What you thinking bout?" I asked Bey as she looked aimlessly out of the window.

"Our baby sister is bout to be somebody's wife." She said in disbelief.

"I can't believe life happened this fast," I replied honestly, "we're grown ass women with kids and careers and shit."

"And deserving of everything. Y'all are wonderful women, each one of you." Jay said grabbing her hand as he kissed it.

"Aww, thanks bro." I blushed.

"Thank you baby. That was sweet." She said kindly giving him a smile.

We pulled up in the long driveway that curved around to the back of the house and parked behind two black Expeditions.

"This is it, huh?" Jay asked inquisitively looking around after helping us out.

"Yep," Bey responded, "This is where we pretty much grew up."

I looked around at the neighbors homes; the new coating of paint on them as well as other updates made over time. My eyes went to the ground at the beautiful flowers planted outside. The cold crisp air made me pull my leather jacket together as we walked up the walkway to the front door.
