"Please give a warm welcome to our girl, the beautiful and talented, Lashontae Heckard!"
Adrienne Baillon introduced me full of vigor as I walked on set of the popular daytime television show, The Real.
I waved at the audience as they applauded. This was my first interview and TV appearance since I'd had Taylor. Now that she was three months, I figured it was time to get back on my shit.
I hugged the ladies before having a seat on the couch.
"Hello beautiful!" Jeannie Mai greeted.
"Hi gorgeous." I spoke back with a wink.
"We're ecstatic that you're here. Thanks for coming."
"I'm excited to be with you all, thanks for having me."
"Of course, How are you?" Tamera asked.
"I'm good, tryna find the balance between work and motherhood of four is hectic, I can't lie, but we making it work."
"That's right, because you had a baby recently!" Adrienne said excitedly.
"I did."
"How old is she and what's her name?"
"Her name is Taylor Bella and she is three months."
I gushed as a screen came up on the side of her and I from about a month ago.
"Awww!" The audience swooned.
"Freaking adorable. She looks like you." Loni said as she smiled at the photo.
"Thank you," I blushed, "that's my boo. I'm so in love with her."
"How in the world did you get this body back snatched like this in four months?" Tamera asked as the audience applauded.
"Awww bless you," I said grabbing her hand, "I worked out my entire pregnancy and immediately after, I took my workout up a few notches to lose weight quicker. I changed what I ate for a while too."
"You look incredible."
"Thank you, Tamera. You're so sweet."
"I just want to say that you are everything I aspire to be," Adrienne admitted, "you are absolutely stunning, talented as heck, you have a beautiful family, but yet so humble. How is that?"
"Y'all can stop," I said awkwardly scratching my head as they laughed, "nah, seriously, I appreciate the compliment. I think it has a lot to do with my background; my parents and those around me. I was taught to be kind, generous, you know, treat people like you want to be treated. My village reminds me of who I am and where I come from."
"That's awesome. Your parents must be so proud." Loni said.
"I hope so."
"You have slightly older children as well. How is it being a mother of multiple kids? I can't imagine, I only have two and sometimes I feel so defeated." Tamera spoke.
