Three Months Later...

"You ready for your shower?" Mom asked rubbing my belly.

"I'm ready to eat. I love party food; meatballs, cheese dip and shit like that. I can't wait."

Literally, I felt my mouth salivating as I thought about the plate I would make tomorrow. Mom popping my hand brought me out of my trance.

"Ouch, dang Mom!"

"You just cursing in front of me?"

"I wasn't thinking, sorry."

"I can't wait until you see how beautiful the venue turned out. It's gorgeous; pretty and pink." Bey exclaimed as she pulled out her MacBook.

"I'm sure it is. Y'all always do a good job."

Her, Angie, and Solange offered to throw my shower here in New York City, like both times before, and I was grateful. Eight months into pregnancy and it was kicking my ass. All the working out and tryna be cute wore me out for the past few months. I couldn't wait to be pampered and waited on hand and foot until delivery.

"I'm telling your husband you was dancing full out at my rehearsals earlier too," Bey teased side eyeing me, "you know he gon get you."

"Please don't. I'm so sick of him."

He would never admit it, but I was almost positive that the fact that I'd lost the last two babies had him on edge. Trey was always on my ass about moving too much or exerting too too much energy.
I couldn't lift a damn finger when he was around.

"Uh huh. You better stop showing out then." She warned, "you not supposed to be moving unless absolutely necessary."

"Yes ma'am." I mumbled rolling my eyes.

"Have you checked on Rose?" Mom asked.

"No," I replied, "Trey talked to her last night. She's fine."

"Has she had any issues with that ear since the surgery?" Bey questioned.

"Nope, she's back to her normal pretty self."

"Are her and Helen coming to the shower tomorrow?" Mom followed up.

"Come for what?" I replied with a raised eyebrow.

She smacked her lips.

"She's family, her and Rose. Why wouldn't you want them to come?"

"It's not Rose; you know that's my baby. She's always invited as long as I ain't gotta deal with her stupid ass mama."

Immediately, I got popped again.

"Ow, dang Ma!"

"I told you to watch your mouth." She replied rolling her eyes.

"Well heads up, I did tell Angie to invite her. She hadn't RSVP'd last time I checked with the planner, that's my bad. I thought you would want Rose here."
