Eight Months Later...
"Everything good for tonight?" Bey asked as I gathered my things.
"Should be," I kissed her cheek and exited the vehicle, "see you later?"
"Yes ma'am."
I closed the door and walked into Trey's Los Angeles residence.
The Destiny Fulfilled tour FINALLY started in April after all the bullshit and although there were bumps along the road, we were having the time of our lives. Was it hectic? Absolutely. Were our schedules crazier than before? Hell yeah, but it was worth it.
The girls and I had a few off days to enjoy our people and celebrate and I for one planned on making the best of it. Today was my man's birthday with Jay's birthday exactly one week from now. We missed Thanksgiving because of a show in France and a bunch of other important things between April and now, but I made it my mission to do something special for Trey's birthday this year.
He went over and beyond for everyone he loved; showering us as best he could with his time and affection, and resources. I had definitely unintentionally neglected him the last few months. And although he was more than understanding, I still wanted to do something nice to show my appreciation for him.
He didn't even know I was in the country and I couldn't wait to see him. Even though I always found time to talk to him, I hadn't laid eyes on him in two months, not in person.
Carefully, I opened his front door and made my way through the house. When I didn't find any one upstairs, I assumed he was in the studio.
I felt my phone vibrate in the front pocket of my jogging pants.
"Hello?" I whispered still lurking around.
"Tae, it's Yvette," she replied quickly, "the guys are at Trey's gate with the vehicle."
"Perfect timing," I said slipping into his bedroom, "call Al at the security booth. He'll let them in."
"Calling now."
"Thank you, Yvette. You're a lifesaver. See you later."
"You're welcome. See you later on."
I hung up, showered, and threw on a little sundress before gathering my hair into a high ponytail. I twirled a few loose curls to give them a lil bounce, sprayed, I Want Choo, cologne to both sides of my neck, and went to find my boo.
As I walked down the spiral staircase to the studio, the bass took over my body. I walked down the hall to the sound booths and could hear Trey's voice permeating through the walls.
