Chapter 17: Issues!

      The team were on the jet. They had just got done with a case. It was the first case Emily has done since she got back. Emily was asleep on Aaron's shoulder. He looked down and smiled at her. David sat across from him and handed him a coffee cup as he had one as well. "Thanks." Aaron commented and David nodded. "No problem. It was good to have her back, wasn't it?" David asked and he smiled. "It sure was." Aaron replied. "She didn't hold back. Her first case and she was spectacular, as if she hasn't stopped." David commented. "That's Emily for you." Aaron agreed. "She's one hell of a women. You're a lucky man." David told me. "I am." Aaron agreed and they both had smiles. "How is it at home?" David asked. "We're still transitioning. Jack's mad at me." Aaron replied and David nodded. "That's to be expected." David commented. "Reid's still giving Emily and JJ the quiet treatment." Aaron commented and David nodded. "I saw that." David told him. "When will that end?" Aaron asked and David shrugged. "We'll have to wait and see." David replied.
      The team were at the BAU, getting ready to go home. JJ took a deep breathe and walked over to Spencer. "Hi." JJ greeted. But he didn't say anything and she sighed. She was about to walk away, but turned and looked at him. "I know you're mad at me, but I did what I had to do. To save our friend. I want you to talk to me, but I will not regret doing that. Emily is alive because of what Hotch and I did, and for that I am thankful." JJ told him and walked away. Spencer sighed and looked at her walking away from him.
      Emily and Aaron got home and Aaron talked to Jessica as Emily went to see Jack. She walked into his room and saw Jack was sitting up. She sighed and turned on his light. "Hey." Emily greeted. "Hi." Jack greeted. "How was your day?" Emily asked as she sat on the edge of his bed. "Fine." Jack replied. "Your dad is talking to your aunt. He'll be up in a moment." Emily told him. "Don't bother." Jack mummbled and Emily sighed. "We didn't mean to do this to you, but it was the only way to save me." Emily told him and he looked up. "What do you mean?" Jack asked and Emily sighed. "There was a really bad man from my past, and he came back just to hurt me. He would have succeeded, if it wasn't for your dad." Emily replied and he nodded. "I didn't know that." Jack commented. "He didn't tell you?" Emily asked. "He never tells me about his cases, but he does tell me that the world is flawed." Jack replied and Emily nodded. "It is." Emily agreed. "I've missed you." Jack told her and she smiled. "I've missed you too." Emily told him and they went into a hug.
     JJ couldn't sleep, so she was cooking in the kitchen. Will walked up to her. "JJ." Will commented. JJ turned around and faced him. "When did you wake up?" JJ asked. "Just now. I woke up and saw that you weren't there." Will replied and JJ sighed. "Yeah, I couldn't sleep." JJ told him. He put his arms around her and she laid her head on his chest. "What's wrong?" Will asked and she sighed. Spence still hates me and Emily for what we did." JJ replied. Will got out of the embrace and forced his wife to face her. "But you did that to save her." Will told her and she nodded. "Yeah, but I don't think he see's it that way. He looks at that and thinks we made him think one of his best friends were dead over seven years." JJ explained and Will sighed as he sat down and took her hands. "You made the right choice, JJ. You saved your friend, another BAU agent. You did the best you could, and that's one of the million reasons why I love you so much." Will explained and JJ smiled. "I love you too." JJ told him. He kissed her lips and then hugged her.
    Maeve walked into Spencer's house. "I think you need to talk to your friends." Maeve told him. "What?" Spencer asked. "You need them and they need you. Your team is so close, and I know in your heart you don't want to lose that." Maeve replied and he sighed. "But they kept that from me!" Spencer explained and Maeve sighed. "I know, sweetie. But would you rather her actually die?" Maeve asked. "Of course not." Spencer replied. "Then maybe it wasn't so bad." Maeve suggested and he sighed. "It's not that simple." Spencer replied as he walked up the stairs and she sighed.
      Emily walked back into her room and saw Aaron was already in bed. "How's Jack?" Aaron asked as Emily sat next to him. "He's asleep now." Emily replied. "Is he still mad at me?" Aaron asked. "Not as mad as he once was. I made him realise we did what we had to do." Emily replied and Aaron nodded. He took her hand and she looked up at him. "I've missed you." Aaron told her and she smiled. "I missed you too." Emily agreed and they kissed. Aaron sighed. "I need to ask you something." Aaron told her and she nodded. "Okay." Emily agreed. "Why didn't you tell me about Doyle before it was too late?" Aaron asked and she sighed. "Because I didn't want you to know." Emily replied. "Know what?" Aaron asked. "The truth about me. What I've done, who I am." Emily replied. "What do you mean 'who you are?' You're a great person." Aaron told her and she held back her tears. "I'm not. What I did to put him away." Emily commented. "And what you did to save Declan." Aaron commented and she sighed as she stood up. "Yeah, and I couldn't even keep him. I wanted to take care of him, but they put him in Foster Care." Emily told him and he stood up too. "I just think you should be more open." Aaron told her. "I'm not an open person. You knew this when you asked me out." Emily told him and sighed. "Buy I didn't realise." Aaron told her. "Realise what?" Emily asked. "How bad it really was." Aaron replied and Emily glared at him. "I have issues. So many issues, and I thought you could handle them.... But I guess not." Emily told him and ran out.
