Aaron still couldn't believe who was standing there. She looked a lot like Emily, only older. With her short black hair and composed figure. It was Ambassador Elizabeth Prentiss, Emily's mom. "Ambassador Prentiss." Aaron greeted. "Agent Hotchner." Elizabeth greeted. "Do you mind if I ask you why you're here?" Aaron asked. "Not at all. I am here because of Emily." Elizabeth replied. Aaron couldn't believe it. Does she not know that her daughter is dead? Or could she possibly know the secret that Aaron and JJ has been hiding from everyone. "There's Some thing you should know about your daughter." Aaron told her. "I already know. That is why I am here." Elizabeth told him. "Her funeral has passed." Aaron told her and she nodded. "I know that too. I came as soon as I heard, but there were.... Complications." Elizabeth told him. "I am so sorry about your daughter." Aaron apologized. "She was so much more. She was a talented agent at the BAU, your girlfriend, she was like a mom to your son, and a friend to everyone here. I am not the only one that lost her." Elizabeth explained and he nodded. "We all miss her a lot." Aaron told his dead girlfriends mother. "I know. She was a remarkable women." Elizabeth commented and Aaron nodded. "She was." Aaron agreed. "I have come to realize that I wasn't the best mother. We were never that close and Emily did have a lot of issues with me. But it was all my fault." Elizabeth told her. "Emily told me that you usually blame her for your problems." Aaron told her. "I suppose I did, a long time ago. But everything has changed. I just wish we could have fixed things before it was too late, but now it is. I loved her so much, she was my only daughter, and I will keep in my heart forever." Elizabeth explained as she kept a straight face. Aaron nodded as he examined her. "We'll all keep her in our hearts." Aaron told her and she nodded. "I will come by here tomorrow with a lawyer. That way he can go over Emily's will." Elizabeth told him and he pushed his eyebrows together. "She has will?" Aaron asked. "That is correct." Elizabeth replied. "But she's so young." Aaron commented and she nodded. "I made her make a will when she was 13. I told her to change it as life changes and as people come and go from her life. You are all in it." Elizabeth explained. She then walked out without a final goodbye as Aaron sighed.
Aaron went to Jack's room and saw he was still awake. "How are you doing?" Aaron asked. "Good." Jack replied as he sat up. Aaron sat next to him and saw him holding a video game. "It's too late to playe games." Aaron told his son. "That's not why I'm holding it." Jack told his dad. "Then why?" Aaron asked. "Because Emily gave it to me for my birthday. It was the one I wanted the most and she got it for me, it's still my favorite." Jack replied with a sigh. "Oh." Aaron commented. "I miss her." Jack told him and he pulled his son close. "I know, I miss her too." Aaron agreed as he thought about her.
The team was in the round table room as they waited for Elizabeth to show up with the lawyer. "I can't believe she has a will." Penelope commented. "It's the smart thing to do in our line of work." Derek told her and she sighed. Aaron just kept looking out the window. "It's like she was ready for death." Spencer commented. "She was, after she heard that Doyle escaped. She knew she was going to die." David agreed. "It would have ended differently if she had just told us the truth from the beginning." Derek muttered. "You don't know that. Maybe it would have, or maybe not." JJ told him. "Here she comes." Aaron commented. A couple moments later, Elizabeth walked in with a man. "This is Mr. Cremson." Elizabeth greeted and they all waved. "It's good to meet you." JJ told him. "Lets get down to buisness." Mr. Cremson told them and Elizabeth nodded. "Good idea." Elizabeth agreed. After that, none of them were surprised that this was Elizabeth's lawyer. Mr. Cremson brough out a piece of paper and put on a pair of reading glass as he examined it. "David Rossi. You will get all of my cooking supplies and cooking recipe books, for your love of cooking." Mr. Cremson read. "Emily knows us pretty well." David commented. "Derek Morgan. You will get all of her music and anything that has to do with music. Meaning headphones and stereo." Mr. Cremson read. "That won't bring her back." Derek mumbled. "Penelope Garcia. You will get all of her hair products, make up, and jewelry. Spencer Reid. You will get all of her books, besides cooking books." Mr. Cremson read. "Rossi's right, she does know us." Spencer commented. "Jenafer Jearu. You will get all of her clothes." Mr. Cremson read. JJ smiled. "We use to borrow clothes all of the time." JJ commented. "Emily and I use to borrow makeup." Penelope added. "Jack Hotchner. You will get her tv's and games. Aaron Hotchner. You will get everything else that she has not mentioned." Mr. Cremson read. "She had Jack." Aaron mumbled with a small smile. Mr. Cremson put the paper in his breif case and took off his reading glasses. "That is all, and I shall be on my way out." Mr. Cremson told them and left without another word or glance.
Elizabeth walked out and Aaron followed. "I'm sorry you weren't on there." Aaron told her and she sighed as she turned to face him. "I was. She gave me a few things she had as a child. Things only I would understand." Elizabeth told him and he nodded. "That's good then." Aaron commented and Elizabeth nodded. "I suppose." Elizabeth agreed. "What's wrong?" Aaron asked. "It just makes me feel worst." Elizabeth replied. "What does?" Aaron asked. "The fact that I was in the will, even with all our problems." Elizabeth replied. "Your her mom and she still loves you. Plus, she has a big heart." Aaron commented and Elizabeth nodded. "She's a much better person then I am. I wonder who she gets it from." Elizabeth commented. "Did you come today because it's Emily's birthday?" Aaron asked and she sighed. "Yes." Elizabeth replied. "I actually bought a present for her. Before she died, of course." Aaron told her. "She hates her birthday. Always have and always will." Elizabeth informed him and he nodded. "I know, but I wanted to get her something nice." Aaron told her. "What did you get her?" Elizabeth asked. "A golden necklace with her name on it and two hearts on either side." Aaron replied. "Sounds expensive." Elizabeth commented and he nodded. "It was, but she's worth it." Aaron told her and she smiled. "I know I was against you two at first, but I'm glad Emily died surrounded by so much love. The teams love, and yours." Elizabeth told him and he smiled. "Thank you." Aaron told her and she nodded. "It was good seeing you again, Agent Hotchner." Elizabeth told her. "You too, Ambassador Prentiss." Aaron agreed and then she left.
Aaron went home and saw Jack on the couch. Aaron was holding the small velvet box with her present in it and saw that Jack was holding a box that was wrapped up. "What's that?" Aaron asked his son as he sat next to him. "A birthday present for Emily." Jack replied. "May I see it?" Aaron asked and his son nodded. "Sure." Jack replied as he opened it up. He pulled out a picture frame with a picture in it. Jack was sitting at the table as he blew out his candles for his birthday. Emily and Aaron stood over him with the rest of the team behind them. You can clearly see the video game Emily got him next to the cake, on the table. "It's lovely. She would have loved it." Aaron told him as he hugged his son. "She would have loved the necklace you got her as well." Jack agreed and Aaron gave a small smile.
