Chapter 42: Profiling a Past!

      Everyone was silent after what Emily had told them. They didn't know what to say or what to do. "Are you serious?" JJ asked and she sighed. "Sadly." Emily replied. "What was he doing here?" Derek asked. "My mom brought him." Emily replied. "Why?" Spencer asked. "Because she thinks he's the innocent one." Emily replied. "She thinks you made the moves on him?" Penelope asked and Emily shook her head. "No, she thinks it never happened and that I just made the whole thing up." Emily replied. "Why would she think that?" David asked. "Because she can't believe that someone shes so close with would even think about doing that." Emily replied. "But you're her daughter." Derek commented and Emily nodded. "She doesn't care." Emily told him. "But she has to." Penelope commented and Emily shrugged. "She doesn't, and neither do I anymore." Emily told her. "What do you mean?" Spencer asked and Emily sighed. "I have a lot of bad blood with my mother, and for all I care.... I don't have a mom anymore." Emily replied and she walked out.
     Aaron followed her out and grabbed her arm to stop her as she sighed. "Hey, are you okay?" Aaron asked and Emily shook her head. No, I just." Emily replied. "What?" Aaron asked. "So much bad stuff happens to me." Emily replied. "It's not your fault." Aaron told her. "What if it is?" Emily asked. "What are you talking about?" Aaron asked. "Maybe I'm just a terrible person, and this is all bad karma about me." Emily replied. "Of course not." Aaron told her. "There's no one else to blame but me. This has to be a reflection about myself, it has to be." Emily told him. "Look, Em. This is not your fault. You're the best person I have ever met. You're strong, fierce, kind, loving, loyal, generous, and beautiful. Inside and out." Aaron told her and she smiled. "You always know just what to say." Emily told him and Aaron smiled too. "It helps that I know you." Aaron told her. "I love you." Emily told him. "I love you too." Aaron agreed and they hugged.
      JJ walked up to Emily. "Hey." JJ greeted. "Hi." Emily greeted. "I just keep thinking about what you went through. You were just 13." JJ commented and Emily nodded. "I know." Emily agreed. "Are you okay?" JJ asked. "I really wish people would stop asking me that." Emily replied and JJ nodded. "Right." JJ agreed and Emily sighed. But yes, I'm fine." Emily told her and JJ smiled. "Do you really feel that way about your mom?" JJ asked. "I do, actually. I'm done with her and the crap she puts me through." Emily replied. "But she's still your mom." JJ commented. "If there's one thing we know from our job, it's that life's too short. We don't have time to have people who just put us down in our life, we just need people who make us feel good about ourselves and make us happy." Emily explained. "And your mom doesn't do that for you?" JJ asked and Emily shook her head. "No. Everytime I'm around her I'm just stressful and on edge." Emily replied. "Aren't you always?" JJ asked with a smirk and Emily laughed. "More then usual." Emily replied and JJ nodded. "Right." JJ agreed. "But she has never been there for me, not even when I was a kid." Emily commented and JJ sighed as she put her hand around her friend in comfort.
     Emily was at her desk, writing some stuff down. She sighed as she grabbed the paper and stood up. Then she walked into her boyfriends office and he looked up. "I'm done." Emily told him as she put the piece of paper on his desk. "How are you doing?" Aaron asked. "Please stop asking, I'm fine." Emily replied. "I'm just worried, because you had to relive the experience to right down the profile." Aaron told her and she nodded. "I know, that's why I got it done as fast as I could. I might be strong and fierce like you said, but not even I can handle this again and again." Emily told him. "I know, Em. That's why I feel bad for asking you too. I wouldn't normally." Aaron told her and she nodded. "I know, you have good intentions. You just want to help me, and you hate that he is still up and about when he should be behind bars. But thanks to my mom, he probably never will be. She rather help him then me, and I made my piece with that." Emily explained. "You don't have to." Aaron told her. "I use to think that I did, but I realized that she was wrong and I'm not crazy. Thanks to you." Emily told him and walked out as he smiled.
      Derek walked up to Emily's desk and sat next to her. "Are...." Derek started. "Don't." Emily interrupted. "What?" Derek asked. "You were about to ask how I am." Emily replied and Derek nodded. "Yeah, so?" Derek asked. "I'm tired of people asking me that." Emily replied and Derek sighed. "We're just worried about you." Derek told her. "I don't care. The next person who asks me, I will stab with my pen." Emily told him as she held up her pen and Derek laughed. "Fair enough." Derek agreed. "Good." Emily commented. Emily put her pen down as she looked down at her paperwork that sat on her desk. "We're out of coffee." Derek commented and Emily looked up at him. "I can go get some." Emily suggested. "Do you want me to go with you?" Derek asked and Emily shook her head. "No, I can do it. It will give me time to clear my mind and get away from all of this." Emily replied as she stood up and Derek stood up too. "Okay, if you're sure." Derek agreed.
     Emily walked out of a store with a bag of things to make coffee with. She went to her car and put the bag in the passengers side. Then she went to the drivers side and opened the door when she heard a scream. She looked up and saw someone trying to throw a women in a white van. She slammed her car door and took out her gun as she ran over there. "Stop! FBI!" Emily yelled. The man looked up shocked, and Emily saw his face under the hat. He let go of the women as she fell to the ground and drove away. Emily still couldn't believe it as she stopped running and watched the van leave.
