Emily was staying at JJ's house. She was sleeping on the couch. JJ walked up to her and handed her a cup of coffee. Emily smiled at her and took a sip. "You don't have to do this. I've already been here for a week." Emily told her and JJ sighed. "I want to, you're my friend." JJ told her and Emily smiled. "Well, you won't have to much longer." Emily told he as she put her coffee cup on the table beside her. "Why? Did you find a place?" JJ asked. "No, but I feel much better and stronger. You don't need to take care of me." JJ replied. "Maybe not, but you can still stay here until you find a place to stay." JJ told her and Emily nodded. "Perhaps." Emily agreed and there was a moment of silence. "What's on your mind?" JJ asked and Emily sighed. "Aaron." Emily replied. "Do you miss him?" JJ asked. "More then you know." Emily replied. "He misses you too." JJ told her. "I know." Emily agreed. "What are you going to do?" JJ asked and Emily sighed. "I don't know." Emily replied.
Aaron parked outside of JJ's house with Jack in the backseat. Jack is spending the weekend at Henry's. "Have a good weekend." Aaron toms his son. "Aren't you coming in to say hi?" Jack asked. "I think I'll just drop you off this time." Aaron replied. "Is it because Emily's in there?" Jack asked. "How did you know that?" Aaron asked. "I overheard you on the phone." Jack replied and Aaron sighed. "Yeah, we haven't really talked." Aaron told him. "But you love her, and you almost lost her a week ago. Shouldn't you tell her how you feel?" Jack asked and Aaron sighed. "I don't know if she wants to hear it." Aaron replied. "I think you should at least try." Jack told his dad and Aaron smiled. "You're a wise nine year old." Aaron told him and Jack smiled. "Thanks, dad." Jack commented and got out of the car.
Jack knocked on the door and JJ let him in. "How have you been?" JJ asked. "Good." Jack replied. Emily stood up and walked over to him. "I didn't know toy were coming." Emily told him. "I'm here to hang out with Henry." Jack told her and then gave her a hug. Emily smiled and hugged back. "Henry's up in his room." JJ informed him and ran up the stairs. Emily walked outside and looked around, but Aaron had already left. She sighed as JJ walked out and joined her. "Hoping that Hotch was still here?" JJ asked. "Yeah." Emily replied. "He usually brings Jack to the door and we talk for a moment before he leaves." JJ commented. "He just dropped Jack off to avoid seen me." Emily told her. "He was terrified of losing you. I guess he still did, just in a different way." JJ commented and Emily sighed. "I know what I'm going to do." Emily commented.
Emily was trying to think of what to say to Aaron the whole drive to his house. She parked her car and walked up to the porch. She got ready to knock and sighed as she out her arm down. She doesn't know what to say. Shes the one that broke up with him. Can she really ask for him back? But he was the reason why she broke up with him in the first place. She didn't want to. The worst part about all of this is that she still loves him, and she doesn't know if she should be with him, even though she wants to. He's the one that couldn't accept her past. He's the one that couldn't accept her abandonment issues. He's the one that couldn't accept her commitment issues. He's the one that couldn't accept her for who she is. She knew their relationship was on a time clock ever since Doyle came back. She also knew that their relationship was basically over after she supposedly died. They had problems before that, but their problems came to the surface after that happened. She has always had to battle her head vs. Her heart, and her head has always won in the past. She doesn't know which one to listen to now.
Aaron was currently doing dishes. He had finished cleaning. He wanted to get it all done so he could relax. That and he wanted to keep moving and his mind busy, so he didn't think about Emily. But he was almost down, and his mind started to drift back to her. Maybe Jack was right, maybe Aaron should make more if an effort. He didn't want to give up, but it feels like he has. He wants to fight for her, be with her. But he's afraid that it'll all be for nothing. But you never know until you try. He wants to try. He wants to be with her more then anything. He loves her. He hasn't felt this way about anyone since Hayley. He lost Hayley to death. She was murdered. Emily was almost murdered twice. He was finished doing the dishes and he turned off the water and dried his hands. He looked up and out of the window that was over the sink and leaned his hands on the counter as he sighed. He has to try, he needs to. He walked to the front door and opened it.
Emily and Aaron stood at each other. Aaron was surprised to see Ekiky on his doorstep. Emily didn't know what to say, because she still hadn't decided if she was going to talk to him. "I was just about to go see you." Aaron told her. "I was contemplating staying here and talking to you or leaving." Emily told him. "Do you want to come in?" Aaron asked. "No. Yes. Maybe. I don't know." Emily replied. "Okay." Aaron commented, unsure what to say. There was a moment of awkward silence and Emily sighed. "Here's the thing, Aaron. Everyone has a past, mine is just darker then most. I didn't want to keep it from you, I was just scared. My entire life I was trying to protect myself. My father left when I was little and my mom was hardly around, and when she was around it still felt like she wasn't. I wasn't close to relatives and didn't have many friends. I was always alone, even around people. No one understands, because everyone has someone. I didn't most of the time. I taught myself everything I know. All my mom would talk to me about was politics. Heck, politics was my first word. I have a lo of baggage, more then most people. Maybe I'm not ready to tell you all of it yet, but I will. Eventually. You just have to give me time. I love you more then anything in this world, and I want to be with you. But I can't be with you if you domt accept me for who I am. I'm the girl with no father. I'm the girl with a fourth of a mother. I'm the girl who was afraid to say I love you or to seriously commit. I'm the girl that doesn't show emotion that much. I'm the girl that doesn't cry in front of people. I'm the girl who hides myself from the world and pulls away when things get to complicated. I'm Emily Prentiss, and if you love me as much as you say you do then you'll have to take all of the bad as much as the good." Emily explained. "I think I can do that." Aaron told her with a smile and Emily smiled too. Aaron pulled her close and kissed passionately.
