chapter 7

AMELIAS POV
Owen and I decided to go to a movie tonight. I felt bad asking Derek again to watch the kids so I figured Emma could do it for a few hours, it was already 8 so Izzy was already asleep. I walked down the hall and opened her door. She looked up from her laptop and took an earbud out.
"Hey I have work, it's just a surgery can you watch your siblings just until I get back and try to get Joey to go to sleep?" I asked.
"Yeah sure," she said, "what time like 8:30?"
"Yeah," I said, "thanks so much."
"You definitely don't have work," she chuckled, "Where are you going? You look nice."
"Fine its a work function," I said.
"A work function where Owen will be?" She chuckled.
"Shut up," I chuckled.
"So that's a yes," she chuckled.
"No it's not," I chuckled, "I'll be back okay I love you."
"Okay I love you," She said. I walked over and kissed her head and hugged her. I went down the hall and told Joey I had to go to work and told him I loved him. I got a text from Owen saying he was here and I smiled. I was so nervous, I'm not ready to date at all but I kinda like him, and he's a really good guy and friend, so I'm not ready to date but I really do like our friendship. I grabbed a jacket and opened the door and he was standing on the porch.
"Hey," he smiled.
"Hey," I smiled and closed the door behind me.
OWENS POV
Amelia was so cute. She was curled up in my passengers seat while we were listening to music on the way to the movie. I know she's probably not ready to date anyone again after what she told me about her ex, but I really like her. We walked into the theater and she sat down next to me and smiled. I really wanted to lean in and kiss her but I was scared too and I didn't know how she'd react.

We were walking out of the movie and Amelia looked really tired. The movie was pretty good which we both agreed on. I looked at my watch and it was almost 11:15. As we were walking Amelia nuzzled her head into my arm and I smiled.
"Hey don't fall asleep on me," I chuckled.
"No promises," she joked. I thought about putting my arm around her but I thought it could end poorly so I didn't. I unlocked the car and Amelia pulled her hair into a bun and yawned. I drove her home and when I pulled into her driveway I walked her up to her door.
"This was fun," she smiled.
"Yeah," I smiled, "it was."
"Well good night Owen," she said cutely.
"Good night Amelia," I said as she walked inside. She smiled and waved before closing the door.
AMELIAS POV
Hanging with Owen was so fun today, I'm starting to like him which is risky but he's so cute. I walked inside and Emma's light was still on. I opened her door and she was on her laptop.
"Hey it's bedtime," I chuckled.
"So how was the date," she said.
"It wasn't a date," I chuckled.
"Fine," She said, "How was the work function?"
"It was good," I smiled, "and you need to go to bed because you have school."
"Fine," She said.
"Goodnight I love you," I said.
"I love you too mom," she said. I kissed her cheek and took her laptop to make sure she would go to bed. I walked down to my room and took a quick shower and crawled into bed. I was going through my night with Owen in my head and he's adorable, I feel like a teenager with a new crush on some boy at school.
