OWENS POV
Amelias been out of work for almost a week sick. I haven't seen her in a few days because she told me she's really sick. Today I want to surprise her since she's been really sick and I have the time. I'm not working today so I went out and got her coffee from her favorite place and started driving over to her house. We've been talking on the phone and I hate that she's sick. I rang her doorbell and Emma answered the door.
"Hey," She said and let me in, "she's upstairs."
"Okay thanks," I said. I walked up the stairs and knocked on her bedroom door.
"Yeah?" She said.
"Hey it's me," I said.
"Come in," She said. I opened the door and she was cuddled in her bed watching tv. Her garbage was full of tissues and she had half eaten soup on her end table.
"How you feeling?" I asked.
"Not the best," she chuckled and sat up.
"I brought you something," I said and handed her the coffee. She smiled.
"Oh my god you're the best," she smiled, "thank you."
"You're welcome," I said.
"I've missed you," She said, "but I didn't want to get you sick."
"Yeah I understand," I said. I sat down at the edge of her bed and she smiled.
"So what have you been up to lately?" I asked.
"Well I have watched almost every episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians," she chuckled, "That's when you know I'm bored." I chuckled.
"Never seen it," I said.
"Oh well you're in luck it's on," she chuckled and turned the volume up. I smiled at her and she snuggled up into her pillow. She patted the spot next to her and I moved over and kissed her head.
"I can't believe you watch this show," I chuckled. She snuggled into my side and shrugged.
"It's entertaining," she chuckled.
"Are you coming to work tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yeah," She said, "I haven't thrown up since yesterday."
"That's good," I said, "how's Izzy."
"She's lucky she had it for two days," Amelia said. I leaned down and kissed her head and rubbed her back. She was so cute.
"So how's work been?" Amelia asked.
"Work," I shrugged, "I missed you at work."
"Awe," Amelia said, "you missed me."
"Of course I missed you," I said.
"You're cute," She giggled.
"And so are you," I said. She snuggled into my lap.
"I can't believe you watch this show," I chuckled, looking at the tv screen with Kim and Khloe fighting.
"Hey I haven't moved in like three days," she chuckled. Her phone rang and she reached over me and I saw that it was Spencer. She sighed and answered.
"Hello?" She said. There was a long pause and Amelia frowned. She got up and I could tell that she was frustrated.
AMELIAS POV
Spencer called again, I really wish he would stop but I have to let the kids talk to him. Today I told myself I would tell Joey and Izzy where he really is but I don't think I can do that. They're still my little babies and I don't want to expose them to all that bad. I picked up Spencer's call and sighed.
"Hello?" I said.
"Can you please bring the kids here?" He begged.
"No," I said, "Spencer I'm not doing that."
"Can I talk to them?" He asked.
"We agreed on one call a week," I sighed.
"They're my kids too," he said.
"No," I said, "Spencer you don't get to say that, after what you did you'll be lucky if I ever let you near them again."
"Amelia that's not fair," he said.
"And what you did wasn't fair," I said and hung up. I looked at Owen and he frowned.
"I want to tell them," I said, "But I'm their mom I just want to protect them, that's my job, I can't just tell them it'll break their hearts, it'll ruin their image of their father and what does that make me?"
"It makes you a good mother to want to protect them," He said.
"I can't just lie to them forever," I said, "I don't know what to do."
"Have you asked your mom? Or emma?" He asked.
"I don't know," I said frustrated, "I should ask Emma."
"Yeah maybe," he said.
"I just don't know," I said, "it'll crush them."
"Come here," he said. I walked back over and sat down next to him. He put his arm around me.
"You're an amazing mom okay? You're just protecting them, and that's a mother's job, and it's going to be hard to tell them, and when you do it'll change them, and they might not understand, but they're your kids and you'll know when they're ready to know," he said. I smiled and put my head on his shoulder.
"Is anyone ever ready to know their dad went to jail?" I sighed.
"Probably not," he said, "but whenever you do it, just remember that you're a good mom Amelia."
