chapter 14

AMELIAS POV
Owen was over which was really nice. Emma was still at the mall and both Joey and Izzy were asleep. Owen and I were laying on the couch watching TV.
"You going to work tomorrow?" He asked.
"Probably," I said, "depends how Joey's feeling."
"Gotcha," He said.
"Was work boring without me?" I chuckled.
"Yeah," he chuckled. I leaned in and kissed him softly. When we stopped kissing we both sat there with our lips so close and I looked up at him and kissed him again but more passionately. He grabbed my face as we started making out and we kissed more passionately. We heard the front door open and we stopped kissing.
"That's emma," I said and got up. He smiled just because of how good our kiss was. I smiled back and walked into the living room.
"Hey how was the mall?" I asked.
"It was good," she said.
"Nice friends?" I asked.
"Yes mom," she chuckled.
"I gotta make sure," I said. Izzy ran downstairs and jumped into my arms.
"Emmas home!" Izzy said.
"Yup," Emma chuckled.
"Did you have a good nap?" I chuckled.
"Yeah," Izzy said, "Emma do you want to play dolls with me?"
"Sure," Emma shrugged. They ran upstairs and I walked into the other room where Owen was.
"Hey I just got paged," he frowned.
"Aw," I said.
"Yeah," he frowned. He kissed me softly and we walked to the door where we said goodbye.
"Well hopefully I'll see you tomorrow," He said.
"Yeah," I said. I kissed him softly and as we started making out again I closed the front door so the kids wouldn't run downstairs and see. I had my arms around his neck and he held my waist as we were kissing. His pager went off again and he broke the kiss. He kissed me again quickly and I blushed and smiled.
"You're pretty," He said.
"You're cute," I said.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he said.
"Mhm," I smiled. He walked to his car and I kept thinking about that last kiss, it was amazing.

It was late now and I needed to tell my mom about Owen and I. The kids were asleep so I was hoping she was still up. I called her and she answered right away.
"Hey honey what's up?" She asked.
"When is it time to move on from Spencer?" I said.
"Oh well have you found someone?" She said, "Omg! Did Owen ask you out?"
"Well no," I said, "but he kissed me, uh, a few times."
"Amelia!" My mom said happily.
"Is it too soon?" I said.
"No honey it's not," she said, "you two have been divorced for over a year now."
"I'm scared," I said, "I really like him, but I don't know."
"Do the kids know?" She asked.
"No," I said, "I don't want to tell them until it gets serious."
"That's smart," She said.
"I feel like they'll hate me," I said.
"Amelia they won't hate you," she said.
"Why is life so hard," I chuckled.
"Well anyway Owen kissed you?" She said.
"Yeah," I smiled.
"Well is he a good kisser," she chuckled.
"Yeah," I said, thinking about our last kiss today, "but like what are we?"
"Well why don't you ask him," she chuckled.
"I don't want to mess it up with him," I said, "I really do like him."
OWENS POV
I really like Amelia, like a lot. I want to ask her out soon. I was thinking today but then I got paged and I didn't want to rush it. I also don't know how she feels about being in another relationship after the trial and her Ex-Husband. I also know that she doesn't want to tell her kids which I get because I'm not their dad, and especially Joey and Izzy don't know what's really going on. I ran into the hospital and my mind just kept going to Amelia.

I was waking out of work and I checked my phone and noticed I had a text from Amelia. It read, "Can we talk tomorrow? Nothing bad I promise lol". I replied with, "Sure, before work?". I knew she wouldn't answer since it was almost 2am now. I drove home and I felt my phone buzz. I figured it was probably Amelia but I'd wait till I get home to answer. I pulled into my driveway and checked my phone. Surprisingly it was Amelia.
"Yeah sure sounds good," she sent.
"It's so late why are you up lol," I sent.
"Can't sleep," she sent.
"Everything okay?" I sent.
"Yeah," she sent, "Just thinking."
"I'm here if you need anyone to talk to," I sent.
"We'll talk tomorrow lol," She said.
"I'm worried lol," I sent.
"It's nothing to worry about I promise Owen," she sent.
"Okay well I'm gonna go to bed, you should too," I sent.
"Ok goodnight," she sent. I shut my phone off and smiled as I walked into the shower.
