AMELIAS POV
I was now at work and I hadn't seen Owen in hours which made me sad. I was looking at a CT scan when I heard someone come in. I looked over and saw that it was Derek.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," he said, "i heard you and Owen went on a date last night."
"Did mom tell you?" I chuckled.
"Yeah," he chuckled, "well and Owen."
"Yeah," I said.
"So how'd it go?" He said.
"You're just like mom," I chuckled, "but it was really good."
"I'm glad," he said.
"I really like him," I smiled.
"I can tell," He said, "he really likes you too."
"I uh, don't know how to tell the kids or when," I said.
"You'll figure it out," He said, "I mean eventually Emma will figure it out."
"Yeah," I said.
"Did Izzy go to school today?" He said.
"God mom tells you everything," I chuckled.
"Yeah," he chuckled.
OWENS POV
I was walking out of work when I heard a familiar voice.
"Owen!" Amelia called. I turned around and smiled to see Amelia walking about 20 feet behind me. I walked towards her and she smiled and jumped into my arms.
"How was your day?" I asked.
"It was good?" She smiled, "how was yours?"
"Good," I said. She giggled and I kissed her softly.
"What are you doing tonight?" I asked in between kisses.
"Watching my kids," she chuckled.
"Well you could come over to dinner with them," I suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea," she chuckled, "You were cute talking to Joey this morning."
"Was I?" I said.
"I mean you're always cute," she giggled and kissed me. I moved my hands down to her waist and pulled her closer to me.
-
I was waiting for Amelia to come over with her kids. We both agreed that we wouldn't tell them that we were dating, but it would be a good idea for them to be around me more. In all honesty I think her oldest Emma, will figure it out quickly.
EMMAS POV
My mom told us we were going to Owens for dinner tonight, which I thought was slightly weird but whatever.
"So is He your boyfriend?" I joked, but really wanted an answer.
"No," she said, "he's just a friend."
"A friend who invited us to dinner," I said.
"So," She said.
"So," I said, "boyfriends do that."
"Or good friends," she said.
"I guess," I said.
"Emma he's not my boyfriend trust me," she chuckled.
"So how'd you go to work last night without your car?" I said.
"I got a ride from a friend," she said, "we were working the same shift."
"Mhm," I said.
"He's not my boyfriend!" She chuckled.
"Fineeeeee," I slouched.
"Hey get ready were leaving soon," She said.
OWENS POV
The doorbell rang and I knew it was Amelia. I ran downstairs and opened the door and there was Amelia and her kids. She looked so cute and I wished I could kiss her right there but I knew I couldn't. She smiled and I smiled back and they came in. Her daughter Emma brought homework with her, she probably had a lot since she was in middle school. Izzy and Joey had their iPads, and I figured I'd let them play my Xbox downstairs that I have for my nephew if they wanted to.
-
I was cooking in the kitchen with Amelia and it was really nice having her here. I showed Joey the Xbox and him and Izzy were playing Minecraft downstairs, and I think Emma was watching tv and working on math homework in the living room.
"You don't seem like a gamer," Amelia chuckled.
"I'm not," I chuckled, "my nephew comes over a lot."
"Ah," Amelia said.
"I mean I'm not trying to brag but I can build a whole house in Minecraft," I said.
"Oh I'm threatened," she joked.
"Good," I said. I heard someone walk into the kitchen and both Amelia and I turned around to see Emma.
"Owen can you help me with my math homework again," she chuckled.
"Yeah," I chuckled. I put the dinner in the oven and walked over to the counter.
"Hey what about me?" Amelia joked.
"Mom you're so bad at math," Emma laughed.
"Damn," I said.
"I'm not that bad at math," Amelia protested.
"We'll just have to see then," I shrugged. She gave me her notebook and Amelia looked over my shoulder and I figured it out. I looked over at Amelia and she looked so confused.
"You got it?" I joked.
"No what the fuck," she said, "what even is this."
"Some stupid graphing stuff," Emma said.
"Where do you get the two from," Amelia laughed, "this is so useless."
"Exactly!" Emma said.
"The 2 is the horizontal slope part," I said.
"Wow look at you such a smart boy," Amelia said.
"I don't get it," Emma said.
"Wait don't you just add the two on the bottom and then add by two on the top every other?" Amelia said.
"No," I chuckled.
"I give up," Amelia said.
"Well I mean you're kinda right," I said, "but you have to go 1, 3, 5, 9, 11, not just add two."
"Why would you just skip 7," Amelia said.
"I don't know," I said.
"Alright then," Amelia chuckled. I explained it to Emma and she seemed to get it.
"You definitely got my math genes," Amelia chuckled.
"Thanks so much," Emma said. I chuckled and Amelia smiled at me. Amelias phone rang and it was right next to me and I saw it was Spencer. She looked over and she flipped her phone over before Emma could see the name.
"Can I talk to you for a second?" Amelia said and before I could answer she pulled me into the next room.
"Hey you Okay?" I asked. I rested my hands on her waist since the kids were out of sight and she hugged me tightly.
"I wish he would stop calling," she said quietly. I pulled her into me and hugged her tightly, not letting go, keeping her safe in my arms.
