AMELIAS POV
It was a few days after Christmas I figured it was a good idea to tell Joey and Izzy now. Owen was still at his mom's house from Christmas so I'll have to tell them without him. I walked upstairs to Emma's room to talk to her about it.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," She said.
"I'm gonna tell Joey and Izzy today," I said.
"Really?" She said.
"Yeah," I said.
"I'm proud of you mom," she said.
"Thanks," I chuckled.
"Does that mean Owen will be around more once you tell them?" She asked.
"I don't know, maybe, why?" I said.
"Because he's really good at math," she chuckled.
"I'm not even going to judge you because I'm bad at math," I chuckled, "Come downstairs so I can tell them."
"Alright," She said and got up. I got Joey and Izzy and came downstairs and I was kinda scared to tell them because I didn't know how they'd react.
"Hey so you know my friend Owen?" I said stupidly even though they obviously did.
"Yeah," they all said.
"Well Owen and I are dating," I said. Emma smiled.
"What about daddy?" Izzy said, and that's what I feared.
"Well Izzy, your father and I aren't married anymore, so we've both moved onto other people now," I said and partially lied because Spencer was in jail, and we hadn't got there.
"Owens cool," Joey said.
"I miss daddy," Izzy said and ran upstairs.
"Do you want me to talk to her?" Emma offered.
"Could you?" I said.
"Yeah," She said.
"Thanks," I said.
"Mommy I thought you liked Owen," Joey giggled.
"Did you?" I joked, "Are you okay with Owen and I dating?"
"Does he make you happy?" He asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Then yes because something like that happened on one of my shows but the mommy was happy and that was good," he said.
"Thanks buddy," I said.
"Is he coming over today?" He asked.
"No he's with his family for Christmas," I said.
"Oh," Joey said. I was just so glad that he was okay with it, and now I would have to work on Izzy.
EMMAS POV
I opened Izzy's bedroom door and she was curled on her bed crying.
"Izzy," I said. She turned and looked at me and frowned.
"Hey why are you sad?" I said.
"Because I miss daddy," she said.
"I miss him too," I said.
"Is mommy replacing daddy with Owen?" She asked.
"No," I said, "No Izzy she isn't replacing him, our dad will always be our dad."
"But then why does she like Owen?" She said.
"Because she's happy with him," I said, "and she really likes him, and I know you like Owen and think he's cool."
"Yeah," she shrugged, "but he's not daddy."
"But he's not trying to be," I said, "he likes mommy, but he's not trying to be our dad."
"Are you sure?" She said.
"I'm positive," I said.
"Why don't we get to see daddy anymore? We only get to talk to him on the phone," she asked.
"Well we moved Izzy," I lied, "so we're far now we can't just see him anymore."
"Oh," she said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Is mommy upset that I miss daddy?" She asked.
"No Izzy," I said, "I'm sure she misses him too."
"Then why does she like Owen?" She asked.
"Because mommy and daddy aren't married anymore," I said, "she misses dad but she's moved on and she likes Owen."
"Oh," she said.
"Are you less upset now?" I asked.
"Yeah," she nodded.
"Okay," I smiled and gave her a hug. I walked downstairs and my mom was on her phone.
"She's okay," I said.
"Oh good," my mom said.
"She was just worried that Owen was replacing Spencer," I said.
"Since when did you go from calling him dad to Spencer?" She said.
"I don't know," I shrugged.
"What did you tell her?" She asked.
"I told her that Owen isn't replacing Spen-dad and that our dad is always our dad," I said.
"Thank you," She said and hugged me.
"She misses him a lot," I said.
"I do sometimes too," she said.
"I have my days," I shrugged.
"Your father really wants us to visit him," she said, "but uh I just don't want to expose you guys to that, I mean he's in jail."
"No I get it," I said, "I wouldn't want to see him in person anyway."
"What changed?" She asked.
"I don't know," I shrugged, "I guess I kinda grew up and realized how much he hurt you."
"Don't grow up," she said, "you'll always be my little baby." She hugged me and I hugged her tightly.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," she said.
"So how have you and Owen been?" I asked.
"Good," She smiled.
"Well he's good at math so keep him around," I joked.
"And you're good at wrapping presents," she joked.
"Gotta keeps us both," I joked and hugged her again.
