OWENS POV
I was in the ER and I saw Emma and Amelia walk in and Amelia looked pissed and I didn't blame her, I was disappointed in Emma too. I finished signing off on a chart for April and walked over to them.
"Find something to do and don't get in trouble," I heard Amelia say.
"Mom whatever," Emma said and walked off. Amelia turned around and saw me just ran down the hall.
"Amelia!" I said. She just kept running and she opened the door to the stairwell. I ran after her and opened the door and I heard her crying. I walked down the stairs slowly to not scare her and she had her head in her knees.
"Amelia?" I said.
"Owen go away," she said. I took another step and sat down next to her.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I offered.
"I hate that boy," she said.
"Me too," I said.
"I feel like such a jerk now but I want to keep them apart," and said crying.
"Did you ground her?" I asked.
"2 months," She said.
"Maybe she'll realize she's better off without Mike," I suggested to make her feel better.
"She'll still see him at school," and shrugged. She curled in a ball and I knew something more was bothering her.
"So do you want to tell me what's really bothering you?" I asked.
"Fuck you just know me so well," she said.
"So what's really wrong?" I asked.
"I feel like I've failed as a mother," She said crying. I frowned and put my arm around her.
"Amelia you have not failed as a mother," I said.
"Where did I go wrong where my sweet little girl just goes running around with this boy drinking and vaping and getting a nose ring," and said crying.
"You're a good mother Amelia," I said, "mistakes happen, sometimes more than others, but I promise you're a good mom to Emma, and Joey, Izzy, and Asher too. Everyone has their ups and downs, and so do mother daughter relationships. Yeah, emma mad a bad mistake today, but that doesn't mean you're a bad mom honey, it just means that she had poor judgement, and she can only learn from it, and you can help her make better decisions stepping forward." She wiped her eyes with her sleeve and looked up at me.
"Thanks," she sniffled. I pulled her closer into me and she snuggled into my chest.
"It will all be okay alright?" I said and rubbed her back.
