AMEIAS POV
It was the next day and I was making breakfast in the kitchen. Izzy and Asher were still asleep and Owen was getting coffee. Joey was in the kitchen with my on his iPad.
"Hey mommy?" He asked.
"Yeah buddy?" I said.
"Why's emma sad?" He asked. I turned around and looked at him.
"Why would you say that?" I asked, curious to how he found out.
"Well this morning when I walked past her room I heard her crying," he said, "did someone hurt her?" I loved how much he cared for his older sister.
"Yeah," I said, "someone did but she's going to be okay"
"Who would hurt her?" He said upset. It broke my heart to see him upset, but it was cute how much he cared.
"I don't know buddy," I lied because I wasn't going to tell him about the drinking. He looked sad now and I walked over and wrapped my arms around him and kissed his cheek.
"Hey cheer up Emma's going to be fine," I said.
"Okay," he said.
"Well if you don't cheer up I'm just going to have to tickle you!" I said and started tickling him and he got up and ran into the living room. I followed him and started tickling him on the couch and his laugh was so cute. The front door opened and we were both laughing and we turned to see Owen.
"Hey," I smiled.
"And what's going on here?" Owen joked
"Mommy's tickling me!" He said.
"Oh no you got me," I chuckled. Joey smiled and ran back into the kitchen so I couldn't tickle him again. I walked over to Owen and he handed me a coffee and I hugged him.
"He's worried about Emma," I said, "he said he heard Emma crying this morning so I'm gonna go check on her now."
"Okay," he said and kissed my cheek.
"And thank you for the coffee cutie," I smiled.
"Of course," he smiled. I walked upstairs and knocked on Emma's door. There wasn't a response so I opened the door and she was curled in a blanket in the corner of her bed with a book.
"Hey," I said.
"Mom go away," She sniffled.
"Well good morning to you too," I said.
"No mom seriously go away," she said.
"Emma," I said. She put the book down and I realized it was the scrap book I made her when she was little.
"Go away," she said.
"Emma can we talk?" I said.
"Do I look like I want to talk!" She said.
"Emma baby please," I said.
"I want to visit dad," she said, and those words hit me like a truck.
"You what?" I said.
"I said I want to visit dad," she said.
"Why?" I said.
"Because I miss him," she said, "is that too much to ask?" I could tell she was getting really angry from the tone of her voice.
"Okay Fine," I said, "We'll figure something out." She was quiet and I could see the tears coming down her face.
"Baby what's bothering you?" I said, wondering if there was more to last night since there clearly was.
"Mom get out," she said, "clearly I don't want to fucking talk about it."
"Emma don't use that kinda of language," I said.
"Get the fuck out of my room!" She yelled. I slammed her door shut and ran downstairs. Owen was on the couch with Joey and he turned to see me coming down the stairs. I knew he heard Emma and he got up and followed me into the kitchen.
"Amelia what happened?" He said.
"She wants to visit Spencer," I said.
"Oh," he said.
"I guess I have to take her," I said.
"Are you sure you want to do that?" He said.
"No I know I don't," I said.
"Come here," he said and wrapped his arms around me.
"I don't want to see him," I said and started crying.
"I know," he said and kissed my head. He rubbed my back as I cried into him.
