AMELIAS POV
I heard emma say goodbye to Spencer and I walked into the kitchen again with Owen. She looked upset and I didn't know what he said to her.
"Are you okay?" I asked, "what did he say?"
"I just miss him," she said and ran upstairs. I heard her door slam shut and I stood in the kitchen and felt the tears run down my face. I turned and looked at Owen and he pulled me into his arms.
"I wish he would stop calling," I sighed.
"I know," he said. He kissed my head and nuzzled his head into mine.
"She's upset Ill be right back," I said and ran upstairs. I knocked on her door and I didn't get an answer. I turned the door knob and when I opened the door she was sobbing on her bed.
"Emma," I said.
"Go away!" She said.
"Emma talk to me," I said. I sat at the edge of her bed and she sat up. Her eyes were all red from crying.
"Emma," I said.
"No," she said, "don't Emma me, you don't care about dad at all!"
"Sweetie that's not true," I said.
"Yes it is!" She started crying again, "you don't care about him because you never talk about him and you don't let any of us talk to him! Or even tell Joey or Izzy where he is no matter how bad it is!"
"You don't understand how hard it is keeping it from them!" I said crying.
"Then why do it! Why are you keeping us from him I know what he did was wrong but he's still our dad!" She said.
"Because I don't want you around him in that atmosphere!" I said, "he's in fucking jail!"
"Well Joey and Izzy don't even know that because you won't tell them anything!" Emma said, "what are they even supposed to think? He's on a business trip for seven fucking years?"
"Watch your language," I said.
"I don't care!" Emma said, "why can't we see dad?"
"Because I said no," I said, "and you know why."
"Dad would never keep us from you," she said, "if it was the other way he would never do that."
"I don't care what your father would have done because your father fucked a student while he was married to me so if it makes me a bad mother to keep my children from that then I'll take the bad mom reputation!" I said.
"At least dad wouldn't have moved on so fast!" She said crying. I stopped and knew she meant Owen.
"No take it back," I said crying.
"No!" She said crying, "you never talk about dad there's no pictures of him anywhere i can't even talk to him on the phone for five minutes because all you do is run around with Owen!"
"That's not true," I said crying.
"Yes it is!" She said crying, "when was the last time I talked to dad besides today, or Joey or Izzy?"
"Give me your phone," I said crying.
"No," Emma said.
"Give me your fucking phone," I said crying. She threw her phone at me and I grabbed her computer off her desk and ran downstairs. I was a mess. I was sobbing and I walked into the kitchen and I knew Owen must have heard everything we were screaming.
"You-You have to go I'm sorry," I said sobbing.
"Okay," he nodded, I knew he would understand.
"I'm sorry," I said sobbing.
"It's okay," he said. I watched him leave and I broke down. I started sobbing hard on the stairs. I curled up in a ball and cried my eyes out.
OWENS POV
I didn't want to leave Amelia because I knew she was breaking but I knew it was best and she wanted me to leave. I texted her and she didn't respond. I was laying down in my bed and I really couldn't stand being here while she was breaking. I got up and grabbed my jacket and keys and ran out to my truck. When I pulled into her driveway I walked up the stairs and rang her doorbell and waited. Emma opened the door and her face was red from crying and her eyes were swollen.
"What?" She said quietly as she opened the door.
"Can I come in?" I asked.
"Yeah," She shrugged and opened the door fully.
"Uh she's upstairs," she shrugged.
"Okay," I said, "thanks."
"Good luck getting her out of her room," She said, "I've tried everything."
"Okay," I said.
"Do you think she hates me?" She said, "I didn't mean it all, and not what I said about you."
"I'm sure she does not hate you," I said, "I know she's probably upset with you but she would never hate you."
"Okay," She said, "I just feel really bad, I-I didn't mean all the mean shit I said I was just mad."
"It's okay," I said.
"Can I hug you?" She asked.
"Yeah," I said. She walked over to me and I hugged her and she started crying.
"It'll be okay I promise," I said.
"Okay," she sniffled and let go of me. I walked up the stairs and Amelia's door was closed. I knocked and there was no answer.
"Amelia?" I said softly.
"Go away," She said, "I thought you left." I sat up against the door and I could feel her on the other side.
"I did but I couldn't stand being alone while you're upset," I said.
"You didn't have to come back," she said.
"Can I come in?" I asked.
"No," she said, "I'm a mess."
"It's okay," I said.
"It's really not," she said.
"Amelia," I said.
"I've also been drinking," she confessed, "just go home it's okay."
"Amelia I'm not going to leave," I said. I felt her get up from the door and I stood up. I heard the door unlock and I turned the knob. I opened the door and she was sitting on the bed in the dark.
"Hey," I said. She got up and walked towards me, and her eyes were super red and swollen, her face was red and she looked like she had been crying for hours. She wrapped her arms around my waist and I kissed her forehead.
"It's okay," I said, "I've got you."
"Thank you," She said.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," She said. I smiled down at her because that was the first time I told the love of my life that I loved her.
